We are happy to see children playing in the parks, families connecting with nature, and adults spending some much-needed time with friends. Our Summer Program Guide includes many of your Park District favorites and a variety of new programs and events at Cheney Mansion, Pleasant Home and the Oak Park Conservatory. While current Covid-19 guidelines prohibit us from hosting larger gatherings, we do hope to bring more community-wide events and recreation opportunities as guidelines permit. Follow us on social media (Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter) or sign up for our E-newsletter at pdop.org/about/ enews for the most up-to-date programming news and community events. In just a few weeks, we will be opening both Rehm and Ridgeland pools! While things will look a little different than in the past, we are glad to be able to offer Swim Lessons, Lap Swim, and Public Swim safely to the community with limited capacity. Here's how it will work: • Public Swim and Lap Swim sessions will available daily with multiple 1.5 hour time blocks. • Cleaning and sanitizing will take place for 30 minutes between each swim block. • Pool users will be able to sign up online for a swim session three days in advance. • Wellness checks will be completed via email on the day of attendance. We are following all State and local IDPH guidelines for attendance and sanitation and are confident that we can provide a safe experience for pool users. Please know that as state guidance for Covid-19 changes, the Park District will be flexible and increase pool capacity as quickly as allowed. We are also very excited to expand our ice hockey program at the Paul Hruby Ice Arena. is summer, we are offering ALL GIRLS hockey classes. is is a great opportunity for girls to give ice hockey a try and perhaps pursue a spot on the Lady Ice Bears hockey team! While the summer provides everyone the opportunity to get outside, reconnect, and enjoy the parks and playgrounds, don't forget to follow current Covid-19 Guidelines with regard to gatherings and social distancing. We look forward to seeing you at the pools, parks, and playgrounds this summer! Take care, See you in the Parks, Sandy Lentz, President Board of Park Commissioners Customer Service Customer service is available from 8:30A to 5:00P, Monday - Saturday in-person at Ridgeland Common Recreation Complex.
