Built in 1897, this Prairie Style house museum represents modern innovation, traditional craftsmanship, and the architectural ingenuity of George Maher. F amily History The home has a history of hosting fascinating characters. Pleasant Home was commissioned to hold magical parties for the Farson family, who were great advocates for technology and progressive issues. The second owners of Pleasant Home, the Mills family, continued the legacy of innovation, gaining their fortune inventing coin-operated gambling, amusement, and music machines through the Miss Novelty Company. P leasant Home Foundation Today the Pleasant Home Foundation operates the home as a living museum, which is open to the public, and offers a year- round schedule of educational programs, community events, and cultural performances. The Pleasant Home Foundation exists to preserve the home and its rich architectural and social history.
