Pottery classes will cover hand-building techniques, scoring, coil pots, and intro to the wheel and glazing. Wheel classes will cover: centering, raising, opening, pulling & glazing. Min 4/Max 10 Knitting Night Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Let's keep some classic hobbies and skills alive! Knitting is a fun pastime and it gives you the ability to create wonderful gis for your family and friends! In this program you will learn: • Week 1: Basics - supplies, terminology, starting • Week 2: Stockinet Stitch, knit that headband • Week 3: Casting on (start a new headband/ Scarf ), Purling • Week 4: an hour of knitting and chatting. Cultural Creations Supervisor: Megan Ulczak What better way to learn about different cultures around the world than to do so through their artwork! Join us while we discover a unique world in multi-cultural art. You will leave with a better understanding of the diverse world around you along with your handmade piece of art! Min 5/Max 20 You Say It's Your Birthday?! Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Everyone loves a birthday party! Come celebrate with us as we recognize famous artists in the month they were born. We will create our own artwork. You will be inspired by works produced throughout their career and might enjoy a sweet treat as well! April 14: Edward Hicks, Artist (Born 1780) May 12: Frank Stella, Artist (Born 1936) Min 5/Max 20 Sewing Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Sewing is not only fun it is also a helpful "life" skill. Come along as we play with hand sewing as well as the sewing machine. In this 5-class course your instructor will introduce the materials and tools used as well as show you the basics of sewing. All material will be provided but feel free to bring in anything you might wish to use on a project. All skill levels are welcome, no experience necessary. Min 5/Max 12 Class does not meet: 5/12 Yes...and? Middle/Teen Improv Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Wanna be a famous singer? Or an astronaut in space? Or a famous singing astronaut in space? en improvisation is for you. Tap into your potential and learn the basics of improvisation. Switch into your growth mindset and practice the concept of yes, and. In this class, you will play a variety of exercises and games designed to build confidence and boost creativity. Improvisation forces you to be in the moment, trust yourself and work together in a team. And you will also laugh a lot. Min 10/Max 20 Mixed Media & Eco Art Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Traditional art supplies can be expensive. But making original artwork doesn't have to be! Join us as we upcycle and recycle materials that would otherwise be garbage. Create unique and eco- friendly works of art using materials you can find at home! All skill levels are welcome for this fun and earth friendly class. Min 6/Max 12
