Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Children are guaranteed to have a great time as they learn fascinating tricks from professional magician, Gary Kantor. Amaze family and friends with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, mind-reading and more. While the tricks may appear difficult, you'll discover that they are quick to learn and easy to perform. All materials are provided, and each child receives a magic kit to take home. Children are grouped by age and will learn tricks that are age- appropriate. Additionally, you can sign up for this class again and again, since brand new tricks are taught each session! Dates: July 11 & August 13 Min 5/Max 35 Beginner Strings Supervisor: Megan Ulczak From beginner to intermediate, this violin class is made specifically for you! Based on the level of the student, we will the learn basics as well as more of an intermediate level of the violin. Reading music, counting beats and keeping rhythm are major in music. Having fun in class is what we strive for. Come and have a great time, meet new students and learn from your peers. Violin rentals at a discounted rate are available. Min 4/Max 15 Sew Easy Supervisor: Megan Ulczak You will learn basic stitching, cutting fabric, sewing straight lines, and the best practices for sewing. We will complete several small projects that may include pillowcases, tote bags, place mats, and aprons. As always, returning participants are welcome! ere will be modifications made for advanced beginners. Sewing machines are not provided; however, participants are welcome to bring one in. Participants are also encouraged to bring basic sewing supplies (scissors, pins and thread). Fabric for first project is supplied and participants will receive a supply list for remaining classes (about $10 in fabric). Min 6/Max 12 Exploration Station Saturdays, 10:30A-12:30P Sundays, 1:30-3:30P Come try hands-on activities with FOPCON volunteer docents at the Exploration Station created by the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory. ere is a new topic each month highlighting special aspects of the Conservatory for both adults and children.
