7 www.pdop.org Scholarships for All Ages Scholarship funds for all ages are available to assist low-income individuals and families in participating in Park District of Oak Park programs. ese funds are provided by the Park District of Oak Park and by the Oak Park Township. For more information or to print an application, please visit www.pdop.org/ scholarships. Key scholarship program details include: • Oak Park residency is required, as well as meeting financial requirements • Funding for up to 75% of program fees • Funding limits are by family member *Please view the online Scholarship Application for details. Applicants must provide all information requested on the Scholarship Application and pay the approved, but reduced, amount of program fees. Please contact Customer Service at (708) 725-2000 if you have questions regarding the application process. Please allow up to one week for processing once you have submitted the Scholarship Application and supporting documentation. Note: Scholarship funds are not retroactively applied to registrations done prior. Forms are available online at www.pdop.org/scholarships. Once approved, any unused funds from the 2019 scholarship year do not carry over to 2020. A simple reminder to recycle your program guide at the end of the season. The Carroll Center Expansion Project, consisting of a 1,200 square foot building addition with two classrooms, is moving forward rapidly. e Park District received a $577,800 grant from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation to achieve Passive House Certification and Source Zero Energy Certification for this project which will help the Park District meet the growing demand for preschool and aerschool programs. Project completion is expected in spring 2020. The Stevenson Park renovation project, funded in part with a $400,000 Illinois Department of Natural Resources grant, includes a new, handicapped-accessible entrance into the park as well as a new playground, game tables, a hit/kick wall and a walking loop around the skate park and basketball area. e accessible playground surfacing is a new product that imitates the look of turf. Look for the park to re-open by the end of December. The new Rehm Park tennis courts are near completion. e Park District removed the three existing tennis courts and constructed two new courts that are regulation-sized and fenced on all four borders. e new courts will open this spring once the weather allows for seal coating and striping. Upcoming 2020 Park Projects Look for swings and a roll hill to be added to Wenonah Park and multigenerational playground equipment and fitness equipment to be installed at Randolph Park in spring 2020. Rehm Park will go under a major renovation in fall 2020. e Park District is waiting for grant award notification that will determine specific park renovation elements.
