Use the beauty of winter as your guide or look ahead to spring as your subject matter. We forget it or run out of time, but those memories are important. Journal Jars are intended for quick, memorable moments that fit on a slip of paper. Fold it up and add it to your jar. On those pesky bad days, grab a memory to brighten your day. We will provide instruction, the jar, and a variety of material to decorate it. You provide all the wonderful memories! One jar per person. Ages 10+ Res Fee $15 - Fee $20 Location: Dole Center - Studio 3 Min 5/Max 8 Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Bookmarks Saturday, Feb 6, 2:00-4:00P Winter is a great time to grab a good book. e library is full of wonderful finds and folding those corners down is a big no no. Come on in and fashion yourself a fun bookmark using a variety of interesting materials. Participants can make up to three bookmarks to share with family or friends. Ages 7+ Res Fee $15 - Fee $20 Location: Dole Center - Studio 3 Min 5/Max 8 Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Embroidered Fabric Sunday, Feb 7, 1:00-3:00P Learn the art of embroidery by following patterns on a piece of fabric. Choose your square of fabric from our pieces or bring in your own. Our instructor will show you how to follow the designs using embroidery tricks to create a textured piece of art. When you get home, you can frame it, create a small pillow, or cover a journal with your new work. Ages 12+ Res Fee $15 - Fee $20 Location: Dole Center - Studio 3 Min 5/Max 8 Supervisor: Megan Ulczak 2021 Memory Keeper Sunday, Feb 7, 4:30-6:00P Let's make some good new memories for 2021 starting with this memory keeper project. You will decorate a special container and make some fancy paper to keep your daily memories safe all year long. Open your container on New Year's Eve to relive your wonderful year! Ages 10+ Res Fee $10 - Fee $12 Location: Dole Center - Studio 3 Min 5/Max 8 Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Darwin Day - Creature Creation Friday, Feb 12, 6:00-8:00P Celebrate the birth of naturalist and geologist Charles Darwin with a creature created by you! Use science and known evolutionary facts to design a unique species. Add fun details such as environment, survival skills, and/or unusual features to make your beast come alive. Drawings will be inspired by Zoological illustrations. Supplies and instruction provided.
