www.pdop.org 4 www.pdop.org 4 Board of Park District Commissioners Regular Park Board Meetings are generally held on the third ursday of each month and the Committee of the Whole (COW) Meetings are generally held on the first ursday of the month. All meetings are held at 7:30P at the John L. Hedges Administrative Center, 218 Madison Street, Oak Park. Public comment is welcome at these meetings. ere is no COW meeting in August. On behalf of the Park Board, I want to applaud our staff for their creativity, innovation and, most importantly, fortitude as we continue to navigate these rough waters. rough sound planning and decision-making, our organization remains on solid financial ground. In this ever-changing climate, please keep in mind the following information as you choose among our spring program offerings. • e Park District is acting conservatively when determining program and camp maximums since they can change quickly based on state guidelines. We recommend signing up for a wait list for programs or camps that are full. If the COVID cases continue to decrease, there is a good chance we can accommodate more participants before the start date. • We plan to open our pools this summer. Pool passes are going on sale March 13, the same day spring program registration begins. Procedures will be different this summer. You will have to make an online reservation for a 1.5 hour pool visit for you and your family. is is necessary to control pool maximums in line with state guidelines, as well as to provide for frequent cleaning and disinfecting. See more details on page 56. • We have restarted public skate hours, we have opened the Oak Park Conservatory, and we are booking rentals at all three of our historic properties–Cheney Mansion, Pleasant Home and Oak Park Conservatory. • Please sign up for our PDOP enews for the latest information at pdop.org. Finally, we are pleased to provide you with the 2020 Annual Report on the following pages. As you will see, we forged ahead with new programs, Community Recreation Center plans, grant awards, park renovation projects, new partnerships, and much more.
