For more details, visit pdop.org/scholarships Scholarships for All Ages Scholarship funds for residents of all ages are available to assist low-income individuals and families in participating in Park District of Oak Park programs. Funding for up to 75% of program fees is available with funding limits per each family member. ese funds are provided by the Park District of Oak Park and by the Oak Park Township. Applicants must provide all information requested on the Scholarship Application and pay the approved, but reduced, amount of program fees. Please contact Customer Service at (708) 725-2000 or info@pdop.org if you have questions regarding the application process. Allow up to one week for processing once you have submitted the Scholarship Application and supporting documentation. New solar power panels coming to Stevenson Center Twenty-two American-made solar panels will be installed on the roof of Stevenson Center this month. e system is just under 10KW and will garner a savings of $2,000/year in energy costs. e system costs approximately $22,000 and with the energy savings and Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) of $9,756, the project's ROI is just five years. Stevenson Center will be the Park District's ninth facility utilizing solar panels! Rehm Park Playground Equipment Donated On April 1, Kids Around the World was on-site at Rehm Park to dismantle and remove the old playground equipment. We donated the used equipment to this amazing non-profit organization that will refurbish and use it to set up a new playground in a neighborhood suffering from violence, war, or severe poverty. At this time, we do not know where in the world our playground will be relocated, but we are thrilled to see it given another chance to give kids a chance to play. The Park District Supports the Year of the Butterfly! e Park District is thrilled to support a healthy habitat for butterflies and other pollinators in our parks. Many of our parks provide a particularly great palette for butterflies. Be sure to visit Mills Park, Euclid and Carroll Rain Gardens, Lindberg Park Prairie, Taylor Wetland, and the Oak Park Conservatory to see a variety of butterfly pollinator plants! e Oak Park Conservatory will host A Year of Butterfly Celebrations throughout the summer and a Summer Pollinator Plant Sale this May.
