Safe Sitter prepares students to be safe when they're home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students learn life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone who is choking, and helpful information like what to do if there's severe weather. e lessons are filled with fun activities and role- playing exercises. A pizza lunch is included! Safe Sitter course content includes: Safety Skills: Students learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Child Care Skills: Students learn tips to manage behavior that will help them stay in control of themselves and the children in their care. Students also learn the ages and stages of child development, as well as practice diapering. Life & Business Skills: e ability to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers will set students up for success now and in the future. Students practice these skills through various role plays. Come out to compete in one of the most epic games available! Players will be entered into a bracket to compete against their peers. Winner takes all! Ages 12-16 Per Session: Res Fee $20 - Fee $25 Location: Dole Center Supervisor: Lucie Harrison Resin Mold Art Saturday, Jul 31, 12:00-3:00P Get creative, and make your own resin casting mold and projects! Casting resin molds are used for making a specific mold or any object you'd like to replicate or display including: keychains, coasters, jewelry boxes, and more. Resin is poured into the mold in order to replicate the mold's exact shape. ese Resin molds are a great way to preserve meaningful items, or to simply try a new cra. Notes: • Casting molds take 72 hours to fully dry. • To allow time to dry, molds can be picked up between 3-6 the following Wednesday. You will learn the step-by-step process, and create your own images to make a pinback button. Pin the creations on a backpack, jacket, or even give them as a gi. Classes will cover hand-building techniques (scoring, coil pots, intro to the well and glazing) and wheel techniques (centering, raising, opening, pulling and glazing). A different theme and recipe (or two!) will be introduced in each workshop. While the food cooks, bakes, or simmers, our little chefs with enjoy additional art and/or games during those times.
