Join us on Tuesday aernoons to make a vase, tile or bowl and decorate it with colored slips and glaze. You can carve into slip, layer it on, and use it as a base for the entire piece. It gives a rich and textured feel to the work. Ages 9+ Res Fee $130 - Fee $150 Location: Dole Center - Ceramics Studio Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Art Crew (Set/Prop/Costume Design) - Winter Youth Musical: Frozen, Jr. Tuesdays, Jan 18-Feb 22, 4:00-7:00P People interested in theatrical design will participate in building sets, props, and costumes that will be utilized on stage during the musical performances. Participants also have the option to participate during the performances backstage on lights, sound, or stage crew. Performance Friday/Saturday at 7:00P and Sunday at 2:00P. Pieces are fired once a kiln is full, so feel free to work on a couple of pieces at a time. Participants can make jewelry and small sculptural pieces utilizing these lapidary techniques. Classes cover hand- building (scoring, coil pots, intro to the well and glazing) and wheel techniques (centering, raising, opening, pulling and glazing). A different theme and recipe (or two!) will be introduced in each workshop. While the food cooks, bakes, or simmers, our little chefs will enjoy some fun art or games.
