Conservatory Birthday Parties
Journey inside our hidden oasis and celebrate
your child's birthday with a nature-themed
party at the Oak Park Conservatory! Celebrate
your birthday with our parrots, George,
Skipper, & Sarah! is is sure to be a birthday
that creates a lasting memory! Ages 3-15
Birthday party packages include garden staff
leader for activities, two-hour use of our party
room, a scavenger hunt, a take-home terrarium
planting kit, and access to the Conservatory

Seed Starting

Learn the basics about seed starting and growing
your own plants and vegetables in this lecture
and demonstration. e Oak Park Conservatory
Horticulturist will guide you through when to start
seeds, materials needed, and how to care for the
plants as they grow. Presented by the Friends of the

The Art of Landscape Design

Learn where to begin with creating a landscape
design for your home. Whether you are a DIY or
looking to hire a professional, understanding the
basic principles of landscape design are essential
to a good garden plan. Join us as the Director of
Horticulture for the Park District of Oak Park shares
her deep knowledge of designing landscapes large
and small. Learn how you can approach your project
with consideration for the architecture of your
home, seasonal color, habitat improvement, care and
maintenance. Presented by the Friends of the Oak
Park Conservatory. A Zoom link will be provided in
advance of the program.

KidsFest

Join us as we celebrate the flora and fauna of the
Conservatory. e Oak Park Conservatory is a local
treasure in Oak Park that houses a Mediterranean,
Tropical and Desert plant collection along with our
parrots, Sarah, George and Skipper! What better time
to explore the Conservatory and celebrate that we
are two weeks away from the first day of spring! is
annual family event is presented by the Friends of the
Oak Park Conservatory. e event is free and includes
educational activities, scavenger hunt and more!
