Classes will cover hand-building techniques (scoring, coil pots, intro to the well and glazing) and wheel techniques (centering, raising, opening, pulling and glazing). A different theme and recipe (or two!) will be introduced in each workshop. While the food cooks, bakes, or simmers, our little chefs will enjoy additional art and/or games. Each child will go home with their recipes to share with the entire family. Explore the history and future of video games with our huge collection of consoles and video games. Participants can expect to collaborate their builds with others and learn new building methods. Ages 11-15 Per Session: Res Fee $21 - Fee $26 Location: Dole Center Supervisor: Joe Lilly Resin Mold Art Saturday, 12:00-3:00P Mar 12 • Mar 19 Get creative, and make your own resin casting mold and projects! Casting resin molds are used for making a specific mold or any object you'd like to replicate or display including keychains, coasters, jewelry boxes, and more. Resin is poured into the mold in order to replicate the mold's exact shape. ese Resin molds are a great way to preserve meaningful items, or to simply try a new cra. Battle monsters, explore magical kingdoms, and make new friends with our new Dungeon Master! Ages 10-15 Per Session: Res Fee $21 - Fee $26 Location: Longfellow Center Supervisor: Joe Lilly Safe Sitter Essentials Saturdays, 9:30A-3:00P Jan 15 • Feb 12 • Mar 12 Featuring updated curriculum from Safe Sitter Inc.! Safe Sitter prepares students to be safe when they're home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students learn life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone who is choking, and helpful information like what to do if there's severe weather. e lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. All current health guidelines will be followed in our program by both staff and participants. Safe Sitter course content includes: Safety Skills: Students learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Child Care Skills: Students learn tips to manage behavior that will help them stay in control of themselves and the children in their care. Students also learn the ages and stages of child development, as well as practice diapering. Life & Business Skills: e ability to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers will set students up for success now and in the future. Students practice these skills through various role plays.
