Adult Hockey Beginner
is class provides an encouraging environment for adults to give hockey a try.
No experience is required. Skills taught include skating basics, such as backward,
crossovers, and stopping, as well as stick handling, passing, and shooting skills. e
laidback atmosphere and experienced coaching provides participants with loads of
fun while focusing on developing new skills. Meet new people or join with friends and
spend your Friday nights on the ice! Equipment required: skates, shin pads, hockey
pants, elbow pads, gloves, helmet, stick.
Adult Hockey Level 1
is unique program provides an ideal arena for skill development. Geared towards
novice and intermediate players, each week will feature coach-led drills designed to
improve players' ability in skating, stick & puck work and positional hockey. While
no scrimmages will take place, participants will find the activities exciting and an
invaluable vehicle to maintain their skating and hockey skills so they will be ready to
play when Illinois allows scrimmages once again. Sign-up with a group of friends or
meet new people! Full equipment is required for this program. All participants must
wear face coverings when entering the building.
Adult Hockey Level 2
League rules include no checking, no slap shots, and a zero tolerance policy for
unsportsmanlike conduct. Players in this program should have experience playing
hockey as there is no instruction in this program. Sign-ups for this program are done
on an individual basis. e league reserves the right to move players from team to
team to ensure balance and quality of program. Full equipment is required for this
program. Players will receive a jersey.
Adult Figure Skating-Beg/Interm
Beginner level introduces skating by developing falling and recovery, forward
marching, forward glides and forward swizzles, snowplow stops, two-foot turns
and gliding into dips. Intermediate builds on skills learned in beginner. All
participants must wear face coverings when entering the building. We require staff
and participants to wear face coverings at all times when social distancing cannot be
maintained.
