Programs are for all gardening levels. Registration is required for these free programs. A virtual Zoom link will be sent to participants in advance. Ages 18+ Presented by the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory (FOPCON) Apr 6: Soil Basics Join the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory to learn about how to prepare your garden beds for the growing season. e focus will be on edible gardening, the basics of healthy soil, how to soil test and what to do with the results. Apr 13: Small Space Gardening Join us when the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory offer expert tips on growing in small spaces. Learn about using containers and raised beds along with vertical growing to maximize your space. Apr 20: Companion Planting with Vegetables Join the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory to learn about the many benefits of companion planting. Combining edibles and annuals can create a healthier environment, attract pollinators, add beauty and texture and prevent unwanted critters. Mother's Day Teacup Garden Kits Order Online! Purchase a teacup garden kit for Mother's Day from the Oak Park Conservatory. Kits include everything you need to put your own teacup garden together with instructions, including teacup, mini teacup plants, potting soil, moss, stones, an individual tea pouch and biscuit. Kit Fee: $35 Pickup Dates: May 11-14, 10:00A-4:00P Pickup Location: Oak Park Conservatory Plant & Tool Exchange New Day for 2023 - Sunday, May 21 Drop Off, 9:30-10:30A Pick Up, 11:00-11:30A Join other gardeners and share your favorite plants and extra tools at the annual spring exchange. Registration in advanced required. New guidelines will be emailed to participants prior to the exchange. Help keep plastic pots out of our landfills – save your garden plastic pots from the Annual Plant Sale and return them for reuse. Ages 18+ Presented by the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory (FOPCON) Quick Sketch Garden Design Fridays, 9:00A-12:00P Individual landscape design and garden consultation services available at the Oak Park Conservatory on various Fridays during the spring and summer from 9:00A-12:00P. Bring in photos of your garden, measurements, and your plat of survey for our professionals to offer help, planting suggestions and a quick sketch as time allows.
