21 www.pdop.org Coordinator: Erin Coffman | Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Drop-In Programs performing arts Youth Theater Playmakers Young artists develop foundational skills and creativity through dramatic play, imaginative theatre games, storytelling, dance and song. Students dramatize and create their own stories as the instructor helps bring those stories to life! Discovering the Stage A high-energy, fast-paced class that introduces theatre skills and activities for young students who want to take the stage. Students will learn several warm-ups, games, and improvisation techniques to give them strong stage presence and confidence projecting their lines and playing as an ensemble. Stage Acting Actors will explore improvisation through fun games, dialects, scene study and monologues in this high- energy, fast-paced class. Students will strengthen their collaboration skills and apply new techniques to various forms of theatre. Theatre for Beginners Each class will dive into acting, voice and dance exploration. Students will learn dance styles including jazz, hip hop, and tap; as well as sing solos, duets, and group songs from classical and contemporary musicals. ey will also learn unique comedic and dramatic styles of acting for a musical. Learning improvisational comedy is a great way to build confidence and make friends, and 1 out of 1 folks interviewed on Lake Street said it "seems pretty fun". is 8-week class will introduce (or review) the fundamentals of improv and give you the basic tools to build fun improvised scenes with your classmates.
