Youth Series Programs special interest Science Superpowers Monday, Feb 19, 9:00A-12:00P In Snapology's Science of Superpowers program, students explore the world of their favorite superheroes. Students will learn about forces, energy, and problem solving as they build models inspired by Superman, Batman, and all their favorite heroes. Experimentation and fun are crucial components of this 'super' educational program! Ages 5-12 Res Fee $52 - Fee $69 Location: Dole Center- Studio 2 SERIES PROGRAMS Scratch Jr Mondays, 5:00-6:00P, Sep 11-Nov 13 In our Scratch Jr class, kids will learn coding concepts including computer automation and linear sequencing. ey will make short stories, apply elements of animation, and create their own sprites and objects – all using technology and coding fundamentals! Grades K-2 Res Fee $364 - Fee $884 Location: Dole Center - Multipurpose Room Minecraft Superheroes Mondays, 6:00-7:00P, Sep 11-Nov 13 In this class, students will learn coding fundamentals and use them to create powerful superheroes with special abilities. Each class creates a new opportunity for our coders to save the Minecra world against a new danger! From traveling to a ruined city and exploring a frozen bunker to saving the White House and more! Students will have an amazing time putting their coding skills to the test! Grades 3-5 Res Fee $364 - Fee $884 Location: Dole Center - Multipurpose Room Roblox Code Mondays, 7:00-8:00P, Sep 11-Nov 13 Students will design, code and play their own 3D worlds with Roblox Studio! Students code using the programming language Lua which is currently the leading scripting language used in games. Roblox's special version of this language – Roblox Lua, enhances the experience as students manipulate environments and program while having fun. Grades 5+ Res Fee $364 - Fee $884 Location: Dole Center - Multipurpose Room Chess Scholars Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30P Sep 12-Oct 17 • Nov 7-Dec 12 • Jan 30-Mar 5 Develop your child's intellect through the royal game of chess! Current research has shown a strong link between chess and academic performance in a variety of areas, including mathematics and language arts. Chess has been proven to enhance children's motivation, concentration, focus, social skills, and creativity. Each class will consist of a fun, interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Both beginner and experienced players are welcome and will learn under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach. Ages 5-12 Res Fee $123 - Fee $143 Location: Andersen Center Minecraft Club Wednesdays, 5:00-6:00P, Sep 13-Nov 15 Students will learn to move, explore, and build/ cra within Minecra. en, we recreate real life structures while learning about architecture, physics, and circuitry. By the end, students will use their knowledge and creativity to make projects on their own. Students do not need prior experience with Minecra. Utilizing block coding, this class helps young learners focus on the coding concepts (not typing) to learn about loops, variables, and constructors while having a blast!
