Our Active Adult programs are brought
to you by the Park District of Oak Park's
partnership with the Senior Citizens' Center
of Oak Park and River Forest.
Coming together in October 2019, the
SCCOPRF supports this programming by
supplementing equipment, supplies and
non-resident membership fees.
We are proud to work with the oldest senior
citizens center in Illinois to bring fitness,
fun, and lifelong learning to our community.

Yoga
Exclusively available to our Active Adult Members.
Yoga combines physical poses with mindfulness,
breathing techniques, and meditation. e
combination of these promotes functional mobility,
self-discovery and helps rebalance the nervous
system. Ages 50+

Tai Chi for Arthritis
Tai Chi for Arthritis is a safer, more effective form
with an emphasis on improving health. Relieve pain,
maintain and improve health and prevents falls for
the elderly. Ages 50+

Yoga for Healthy Aging
Join Maike Liebermann for an hour of yoga
specifically designed to improve the health of your
back, balance, and other trouble areas that come with
age. Targeted exercises can be practiced to help your
individual needs. Ages 50+

Basic Fitness
Build strong bones and muscles while developing
cardiovascular endurance and flexibility. Individual
modifications provided as needed. Ages 50+

Dancercise
Have fun moving and grooving to some great tunes
lead by a certified instructor. Warm up for the first
10-20 minutes before enjoying 30 minutes of heart
pumping dancing. Perfect mix of fitness and fun on
a weekday morning. No dance experience required.

Absolute Beginners Tai Chi
Welcome to Tai Chi for beginners with no experience
necessary. Studies show Tai Chi can reduce falls
and improve cognitive function. In this class, you'll
learn the benefits of deliberate movement through
breathing and slow motion that can help improve
balance, stability, and flexibility. Ages 50+

Tai Chi Colleagues
Join fellow Tai Chi students in this class designed
to refresh and refine your skills. Experience in Tai
Chi is suggested as minimal instruction is provided
however, interested new comers are welcome to
register and learn by example. Ages 50+

Trips
Join a group of your peers on a trip once a month.
We'll explore a variety of locations, museums,
experiences, and fun in one morning or aernoon.
Past trips include art festivals, live performances,
cruises, historic locations, and more. Locations,
dates, and times will be listed in Amilia.
