We're spending our day off of school riding the forest preserve trails on horseback! Join our friends at Forest View Farms for an equestrian adventure, complete with riding and barn tour. No riding experience necessary. Ages 11-17 Res Fee $45 - Fee $58 Location: Field Center Spooky School's Out: Museum of Surgical Science ursday, Oct 26, 9:30A-3:00P It's almost Halloween! Join us for a trip through time to see how surgeries were done back when they had no sterilization and no anesthesia. Not creepy enough for you? We'll also get to experience a leg amputation like it was done in the 1800s! Ages 13-18 Res Fee $45 - Fee $58 Location: Field Center Snowshoe Safari Friday, Dec 22, 9:30A-3:00P We're heading to Plum Creek Nature Center to enjoy the winter weather! Join us for a snowshoe walk along the trails led by our own naturalists. If there's not enough snow to use snowshoes, we'll enjoy a winter hike before come back to Field Center for a campfire and s'mores. Ages 11-17 Res Fee $30 - Fee $39 Location: Field Center Isle a la Cache Exploration Day ursday, Dec 28, 9:30A-3:00P We're time traveling again at the Isle a la Cache Museum to see how life was like for the fur traders, voyageurs, and Potawatomi that lived here. We'll visit the historic longhouses and talk with traders, hike the snowy trails, and make a few projects just like our 18th century companions. Ages 11-17 Res Fee $30 - Fee $39 Location: Field Center Wayfinding in the Wild Friday, Dec 29, 9:30A-3:00P Take a hike at Kendall County Outdoor Education Center with us to explore all things orienteering! We're taking a look at maps and compasses to navigate our way through the trees, plus brushing up on our survival skills and learning how to find our way without any tools at all. Ages 11-17 Res Fee $41 - Fee $54 Location: Field Center Snow Much Fun at the Forest Preserves Wednesday, Jan 3, 9:30A-3:00P Get on your hats and gloves! We're heading to Blackwell Forest Preserve to go tubing down Mount Hoy's 800 foot ride! Plus, bring your own sleds for more winter fun. If there's not enough snow, we'll enjoy a winter hike before come back to Field Center for a campfire and s'mores. Ages 11-17 Res Fee $30 - Fee $39 Location: Field Center Gone (Ice) Fishin' Monday, Jan 15, 9:30A-3:00P We're visiting our friends at the DuPage County Forest Preserves for a day of ice fishing! Learn the basics of this fun winter adventure and see what you can catch! If there's not enough ice to safely fish, we'll enjoy a winter hike before come back to Field Center for a campfire and s'mores. Ages 11-17 Res Fee $30 - Fee $39 Location: Field Center Teen Ski Trip Monday, Feb 19, 7:30A-8:00P e mountains are calling, and I must go! We're heading to Chestnut Mountain Resort in Galena, IL. Chestnut Mountain is home to over 220 rolling acres, a 475-foot vertical drop, and 19 runs ranging from bunny hills to black diamonds. Registration covers transportation and day pass.
