4 www.pdop.org 4 Board of Park District Commissioners Regular Park Board Meetings are generally held on the third ursday of each month and the Committee of the Whole (COW) Meetings are generally held on the first ursday of the month. All meetings are held at 7:30P at the John L. Hedges Administrative Center, 218 Madison Street, Oak Park. Public comment is welcome at these meetings. ere is no COW meeting in August. If you haven't already, I invite you to stop in for a tour, sign up for a Free Track Membership, and enjoy this great community resource. e Youth Aerschool Program for Oak Park middle- and high-schoolers begins this fall at the Community Recreation Center. All youth must be registered for this FREE program to access the CRC any school day from 3:00-6:00P. Our Youth Advisory Council has been busy planning activities and events to engage visiting youth during this time. Youth are also free to enjoy the gymnasium and Esports Lounge. Please ensure that youth are registered to take advantage of this free program. Learn more and register at pdop.org/crc/aerschool. We have some exciting park improvements taking place this fall. Barrie Park renovations began in May and are scheduled for completion by December 1. e renovation includes a new playground, tot lot, and natural play area as well as repair and improvements to the sled hill and north-side retaining wall. Our Taylor Park Tennis Courts will be resurfaced making for some great game play this fall. e courts will be closed for six weeks beginning mid-August. Coming this fall, the District will conduct its five-year Community Survey. is survey gives residents the opportunity to provide feedback on Park District programs, parks, facilities and guides District communications and long-term planning. is October, postcards will be mailed to a random sample of residents requesting input. e survey can be completed online, by phone or mail. We hope that you will take a few minutes to provide your feedback to help us better serve the community. Once again, our holiday programming is in full swing, and registration will take place on Saturday, October 7. Mark your calendar for these fun and festive programs and activities. Don't forget about winter programming which takes place December through February of 2024. Registration opens for both fall and winter programs on August 5.
