53 AnteUp Boys' Lacross League (Grades 3-4, 5-6, 7-8) .Supervisor: Mike Mockler Ante Up Lacrosse was developed for lacrosse players by lacrosse players. This program has firmly established itself as the official youth spring program for players from Oak Park and River Forest. The staff consists of Team USA coaches, World Lacrosse Game Gold medalists, World Team members, All Americans, Division One athletes and local varsity coaches from Fenwick and OPRF. Ante Up's mission is to introduce and prepare young lacrosse players for their future high school career. We teach sound fundamentals through competitive, team-based lacrosse. This model ties in leadership, sportsmanship and helps build a players character as well as improving his skills. The program is run by Fenwick's Varsity Lacrosse Coach, Tim Duffy and will compete in the Illinois United Lacrosse Association. Practices will take place twice a week in River Forest from 6pm-730pm. There will be approximately 10 games (5 home, 5 away), which will take place on Saturdays or Sundays. Players need the following equipment by the start of the program: Gloves, Stick, helmet, mouth guard, protective cup, elbow pads, shoulder pads. The emphasis of this program is to develop the girl within the sport of lacrosse. The goals of the program are to understand the rules of lacrosse, active teamwork, sportsmanship, and fostering personal development in a respectful environment led by positive coaching. All players will receive equal playing time. Practices will take place at Washington Commons Park in River Forest one day per week for 1.5 hours and games will be played on Sundays afternoons.
