45 YOUTH FITNESS AND SPORTS Intro to Aerial Circus Arts Supervisor: Amanda Heiman This introductory class teaches basic tricks and stunts straight form the circus and is open to all levels of fitness. Students will learn both trapeze and aerial silks in a fun and exciting environment. It is not only a unique opportunity but a great way to improve physical strength and coordination. Min 4/Max 12 Class does not meet: 11/27 Aerial Circus Arts - Trapeze & Skills Performance Supervisor: Amanda Heiman This next level Aerial Arts class provides students the opportunity to learn basic combo movements as well as more advanced tricks on both the trapeze and silks. Students must have been in at least two prior sessions of Aerial Arts to register for this program. Diana Unger, a certified coach with the United States Fencing Association with more than 25 years of fencing experience, will teach you the basics of fencing. Fencing requires patience, concentration, discipline, and self-awareness. Self-confidence, self-control, and emotional strength gained from this sport will lead to a healthier lifestyle. Weapons, jackets, and masks will be provided and shared among classmates.*Participants must obtain a $5 US Fencing Membership prior to the first day of class. This event is open to boys and girls from ages 7 to 14. Waves will be based on both age and gender. T-shirt and participation medal included. Location: Park District of forest Park Day: Saturday Date: September 6 tiMe: Waves begin at 8 am ages: 7-14 Fees: $35 instructor: Park District of forest Park staff Min/Max: 10/150 coDe 5906-1-0-0 Yoga for Kids (Ages 8 - 12) Supervisor: Liz Visteen Children can benefit from practicing yoga! We'll concentrate on stretching, strengthening, and relaxation, while coordinating breathing with movement. We will also explore more advanced and exciting poses. Many of these relaxation techniques can be practiced at home: a great tension reliever for both kids and parents. Min 6/Max 20 Class does not meet: 11/26 ZUMBA Kids Jr (Ages 4 - 6) Supervisor: Liz Visteen Zumba® Kids Jr. classes are a dance 'n' play party for lil' feet where pint-sized party animals get silly, dream big and begin their journey to a healthy future. This program is where 4 to 6-year-olds just let loose and be themselves - little bundles of natural energy that are endlessly curious about new sounds and experiences!
