15 Calling All Scouts! Scouts ages 6-18 can now earn the Ice Skating Merit Badge or Fun Patch at the RCRC. Daisies, Brownies, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scout classes are now being offered! Each session will include free skate rental, 45 minutes of on-ice instruction, and 15 minutes of off-ice instruction. Each participant will receive a Scout Badge or Fun Patch and two free public skate admission. The Park District has merit badge counselors on staff who will take Boy Scouts through the skating patch requirements. Min 5/Max 20 Register individually or as your whole troop! New! Ice Soccer Break out of the usual drills with fun on the ice. Ice Soccer provides an exciting way to continue working on your skating skills! Pick-up games will be formed with skaters based on age and lunch will be provided. New! Hockey Night Out Parents - let us take care of your hockey player so you can enjoy the night. We are providing dinner, fun, and skating all supervised by our coaching staff. This free event is a great way for participants to get on the ice and see if ice hockey is right for them. Coaches will be on hand to help skaters on the ice while they get a feel for what hockey is all about. Skate with Santa! Su, Dec 21 from 1:45 – 4:00 PM $7 or by season pass Santa is stopping by the Paul Hruby Ice Arena to try out his new skates during this holiday skate! Come on by and see if he's got what it takes on the ice! If you're nice, maybe he will share some cookies with you! New! Skate Academy Holiday Party Celebrate the holidays with the Skate Academy! Bring your skating friends for a fun-filled afternoon featuring an ice cream social, cookie decorating, and skating. All participants will receive a special gift from the RCRC! New! School's Out Jan 19: Ice Arena Pajama Day It's a Pajama Party at the RCRC! Skate Academy participants can relax in their pajamas during their day off from school. Join your classmates for lunch and a movie followed by skating! New! School's Out Feb 16: Ice Skate, Fun & Pasta Celebrate President's day with your friends in the Skate Academy. We are providing lunch and having fun with duct tape crafts as well as time on the ice. Don't miss out on an afternoon full of fun! RIDGELAND COMMON RECREATION COMPLEX EVENTS ON THE ICE New! Wait a minute, there is! We're turning down the lights and turning up the fun. Cosmic skate is a great way for you and your friends and loved ones to spend the evening skating away under the glowing lights, while the DJ plays your favorite tunes. Come on out for a little Saturday Night Fever for the greatest skate the area has to offer.
