Intermediate Ballet
Supervisor: Amanda Heiman
Reveal your inner ballerina. Ballet is a
rhythmical dance that enriches the soul and is an
excellent form of exericse. You will tone, strengthen
and lengthen your body while exploring basic ballet
movements and beyond. Previous ballet experience
required to join this class.

Dancin' at the Mansion: Swing and
Ballroom
Supervisor: Amanda Heiman
Come dance the night away! Learn classic ballroom
dances with a special emphasis on Swing.The
instructor's easy-to-follow teaching style will have
you gliding across the dance floor in just a few
weeks. You'll learn to Swing, Foxtrot and Rumba
while burning some calories at the same time! No
experience or partner required. Please bring non-
rubber soled shoes to class.

Latin Sampler
Supervisor: Amanda Heiman
Heat up the dance floor with some hot Latin
dancing! Salsa, Cha-Cha, Bachata and Merengue
will be taught in this fun and active dance class.
You'll learn the basic steps and enjoy the rhythm
of these exciting dances. It's great fun and great
exercise! No experience or partner required. Please
bring non-rubber soled shoes to class.

Adult Ceramics - Creative
Expressions
Supervisor: Amanda Heiman
Get creative and express yourself in this 8 week
program that will focus on basic wheel throwing
and hand building techniques. Kris will provide
instruction each week along with ideas for projects
you can individualize: tiles, mugs, bowls, teapots,
and more. Continuing students are encouraged to
register and use this class to enhance their skills.
Clay, glazes, and firing are included in the fee.
Depending on where your creativity takes you . . .
class time allows for both wheel throwing and hand
building opportunities. Please note the studio only
has 6 wheels for use during class hours.

Sew Easy
Supervisor: Amanda Heiman
Thinking about learning to sew? Or need a
refresher? Then join Angie for one of the Park
District's most popular sewing classes. During this
course, you'll learn how to thread and operate
your sewing machine, navigate a fabric store and
complete several simple projects that concentrate
on the most difficult parts of sewing: cutting and
sewing straight lines! First class will meet at a
local fabric store. Participants will sew a standard
pillowcase and cloth napkins. Returning Sew Easy
participants are welcome and modifications will
be made for those who want additional challenge!
Participants must supply own machine, thread,
scissors and two yards (total) of cotton fabric. Angie
will email participants at least one week prior to
class with first class information. Machine rental
available upon request.

Want to give the wheel a try? Join us for an evening
of wheel techniques, discovery and exploration as
you experience the Park District's ceramics studio
at Dole Center. Come ready to get messy and learn
the basics. Please note the studio only has 6 wheels;
therefore space is limited.
