If you are planning an event in a park in Oak Park, you may need to secure a park permit in order to proceed
with your event. Certain activities that require a permit include, but are not limited to:
• gatherings/events with 12 or more participants
• professional filming or photography
• use of any amplified sound, including microphones or radios
• bringing outside equipment into a park
• food or merchandise sales or sampling
• events requiring a specific location within a park
Obtaining a Park Permit
To apply for a permit or determine if your activity requires a permit, please visit www.pdop.org. Fill out the
appropriate permit request and submit it to the Park District at least 3 weeks prior to the proposed activity.
Requests must be accompanied by the application fee ($10 for residents, $25 for non-residents) to be processed.

Picnic Patio and Shelter Permits - Closed for season
Permits may be reserved for the Field Park gazebo, Taylor Park patio, Taylor Park Pavilion or the new Lindberg
Park Pavillion during the spring/summer/fall seasons. Consult the Spring Program Guide for more information!
The Park District of Oak Park offers a variety of
venues for your special occasions. Among them are
Cheney Mansion, Pleasant Home and the Oak Park
Conservatory, which are unique historic properties
well-suited for weddings, showers and corporate
functions. Our recreation centers, located throughout
the community, are great settings for birthday parties,
showers and other family gatherings.

Scholarship Funds Are Available
Scholarship funds for all ages are available to assist low-income individuals and families in participating
in Park District of Oak Park programs. These funds are provided by the Park District of Oak Park and by the
Oak Park Township. For more information or to print an application, please visit www.pdop.org/scholarships.
Key Scholarship program details include:
• Oak Park residency is required as well as meeting financial requirements.
• Funding for up to 75% of program fees.
• Funding limits are by family member, per program season, with a maximum amount per
household.*

Scholarship applicants must provide all information requested on the Scholarship Application and pay the
approved but reduced amount of program fees. Please contact the Customer Service (708) 725-2000 if you
have questions regarding the application process. Please allow up to one week for processing once you have
submitted the Scholarship Application and supporting documentation. Note: Scholarship funds are not
retroactively applied to registrations done prior. Forms are available online at www.pdop.org/scholarships.
Applications forthe 2015 calendar year will be available online and must be filled out annually and turned
in after January 1 each year.
Outdoor Skating Back in Winter 2014-2015
The Park District will offer outdoor ice rinks at three outdoor locations
this winter:
Longfellow Park (with lights for evening use)
Austin Gardens
Taylor Park (with lights for evening use)
Outdoor ice rinks are created when weather allows.
