Sew Cute: Sewing Machine Works Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Does your child want to learn how to sew using a sewing machine? In this workshop, Angie will teach your child about the basics of threading and operating a sewing machine and we will sew a throw pillow of his or her design. Participants must supply own sewing machine with a bobbin and one spool of thread. All other supplies will be provided. Please request instructor approval for participants younger than age 8. Parents are welcome to stay to observe and help. Min 8/Max 12 Magic Class!! Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Children are guaranteed to have a great time as they learn fascinating tricks from a professional magician! Amaze family and friends with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, mind-reading and more. While the tricks may appear difficult, you'll discover that they are quick to learn and easy to perform. All materials are provided, and each child receives a magic kit to take home. Children are grouped by age and will learn tricks that are age-appropriate. Additionally, you can sign up for this class again and again since brand new tricks are taught each session! Min 5/Max 30 YOUTH ARTS Kids Cook - Breakfast Club Supervisor: Poppy Vogel Chef Ron Martin Start your day with a beautiful breakfast! Learn to make Buttermilk Pancakes from scratch. Not your average meat and cheese omlette and a Fresh Fruit Parfait. Min 6/Max 10 Kids Cook - Chocolate Lovers Supervisor: Poppy Vogel With Chef Ron Martin, it's not just cooking but learning too! In this class you will learn about chocolate and its properties. Learn to temper chocolate properly and then dip yummy fruit in it. Create chocolate pudding and chocolate wafer cookies. There is never TOO MUCH chocolate. Min 6/Max 10 Kids Cook - Saute It! Supervisor: Poppy Vogel This class focuses on the basics of using a saute pan. The menu will feature Veal or Chicken Saltimbooca, Wild Rice Cakes and a Fresh Veggie Medley. Min 6/Max 10 Thanks to Whole Foods of River Forest for their continued support of the Kids Cook program!
