This is the camp for any young zoologist ready to further explore the Animal Kingdom. Don't be surprised if we are joined by wild creatures! Min 8/Max 24 MythBusters Week Supervisor: Amanda Heiman "Busted" or "Confirmed," you be the judge! In this one week camp, participants will test key elements of popular beliefs, internet rumors or other myths. We will replicate the circumstance and duplicate the results, making predications along the way! Min 8/Max 24 A WEEK AT THE MUSEUM Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Ever wish you could roam the rooms of the Mu- seums at night? Here's your chance to enjoy your very own "Week at the Museum," Oak Park style! We won't wait until nightfall, but will spend each day exploring a different Chicago museums from art to history to science & industry! Min 8/Max 24 The Amazing Race Week Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Teams will be formed on Monday and "training" will build up to the Friday Finale. Groups will study clues to navigate themselves through physical and mental challenges with limited resources - riddles, obstacles, and roadblocks . . . Oh My! Min 8/Max 24 YOUR TOY'S STORY Week Supervisor: Amanda Heiman What are your toys are doing when you're not around? Are they calling the "neighbor toys" scheduling play dates or fighting off your cat & dog? Tell your toy's story in this action-packed toy adventure week. Themed games, activities, projects, and more! Min 8/Max 24 Treasure Island Week Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Swap the deck, walk the plank, "x" marks the spot . . . fulfill your dreams of treasure in this one week camp. The days will be filled with hands on activi- ties, crafts, games, and maybe even a visit from a pirate! I DA-rrrrrrr-E you to sign up! Min 8/Max 24 S U M M E R C A M P S : S P E C I A L T Y C A M P S ese camps are not eligible for extended camp. Chess Scholars Week Supervisor: Amanda Heiman This camp is designed for both beginners and ex- perienced young players. Children will have an op- portunity to test for a Chess BeltĀ® under a unique Chess Scholars system patterned after martial arts belts. Each class will consist of a fun interactive teaching period and guided practice time. There will also be a chess competition with prizes! Each camper will take home a chess set and an award. Min 5/Max 25 Rockin' Robots Week Supervisor: Amanda Heiman All about robots! From sensors to activators, effec- tors to manipulators, your Mad Scientist will learn what makes robots go. Each participant will put together their own robot to keep at the completion of the camp. Please note the fee is greater due to the parts and supplies needed per robot! Min 5/Max 25 Hike & Bike Week Supervisor: Mike Mockler Hit the pavement this summer and explore using your own pedal power. Bicycles will be provided by the park district to all participants, and bike/road safety will also be taught! Min 8/Max 20 Dancin' Days Week Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Spend the week with friends learning cheers, tech- niques, and a few new moves; combine what you learned for a final Friday performance. This active camp is sure to get your camper doing flips! Min 8/Max 24
