Ten Chimneys, the estate lovingly created by theatre
legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, is a world-
class house, museum and national resource for
theatre, arts, and arts education. To quote one of the
many celebrities that visited frequently, Katherine
Hepburn wrote, "Every time I was visiting with the
Lunts in Genessee Depot, I was in a sort of daze of
wonder; the dining room, the table, the china, the
silver, the food, the extraordinary care and beauty, and
taste...a sort-of dream, a vision."

The Richard H. Driehaus Museum immerses visitors
in one of the grandest residential buildings of 19th-
century Chicago, the Gilded Age home of banker
Samuel Mayo Nickerson. Today the galleries feature
surviving furnishings paired with elegant, historically-
appropriate pieces from the Driehaus Collection of
Fine and Decorative Arts, including important works
by celebrated designers Louis Comfort Tiffany.

Food & Flicks: Like Water for
Elephants

Based on the acclaimed bestseller, Water for
Elephants presents an unexpected romance amidst
the bygone era of the traveling circus. Tastefully
told and beautifully filmed, the movie stars Robert
Pattinson as a veterinary student who joins a
traveling circus and Reese Witherspoon as a
beautiful circus performer.

night begins among friends at 5:30pm when the
doors open at Cheney Mansion. Enjoy wonderful
hors d-oeuvres and wine and make sure to join in
on a guided tour of this beautiful 12,000 square
foot mansion designed in 1913 by Charles E. White,
Jr., a student of Frank Lloyd Wright!
