Circus Workshops

Have you ever been to the circus? Have you wanted
to be able to ride a unicycle or spin plates on a
stick . . . maybe hang from a trapeze? Well this
is the perfect place to try your hand at the circus
for the first time. Participants will get to explore
various circus equipment in a fun and safe learning
environment.
• Sunday, Sept 20: Juggling - Learn the basics
skills needed to start juggling! This 2 hour work-
shop will fly by, just like the objects do...as you
learn your hand at this circus act!
• Sunday, Oct. 18: Ground Acts - Plate spin-
ning, ground acrobatics, a little bit of juggling and
more! This 2 hour workshop will introduce you to
the ground acts performed at the circus...sign up
to goof around with us today!
• Sunday, Nov 15: Aerials - Hang from the
trapeze like a real circus performer! This 2 hour
workshop will introduce you to proper ways to
execute aerial acrobatics on the trapeze, following
the safety guidelines demonstrated by the instruc-
tors.
• Sunday, Dec 20: A Little Bit of Everything!
- Juggle, spin plates, or hang from the trapeze!
This 2 hour workshop will introduce you to a little
bit of everything our circus programs have to offer!

Intro to Aerial Circus Arts
Supervisor: Amanda Heiman
This introductory class teaches basic tricks and
stunts straight from the circus and is open to all
levels of fitness. Students will learn both trapeze
and aerial silks in a fun and exciting environ-
ment. It is not only a unique opportunity but
a great way to improve physical strength and
coordination.

Aerial Arts - Trapeze
Supervisor: Amanda Heiman
Prerequisite: One full year Intro to Aerials,
Beginning Trapeze, or teacher referral
In this second level Circus course, students will learn
intermediate tricks and start to coordinate aerial
moves. Trapeze and ground work will be combined to
form routines. Students will learn both trapeze and
aerial skills in a fun and challenging environment.

Juggling Club
Supervisor: Amanda Heiman
Join us in our evening juggling club at the GRC! If
you're a novice or always trying to juggle those or-
anges on your counter with little success, it doesn't
matter . . . all skill levels are welcome. Clown
around with us for six weeks as we use hand-eye
coordination and balance to throw around rings,
balls, diabolo, and more! We guarantee you will
improve and learn something new . . .
