74 Teen Trip: Haunted House Supervisor: Mike Loszach Are you a teen looking to get in the Halloween spirit? Are you ready to prove to your friends that you're the bravest of the bunch? Join us as we travel to the Scream Scene Haunted House in Skokie to experi- ence the chills and terrors of the chainsaw maniacs, insane clown maze, and more! Advanced registration is required and space is limited so sign up today! Departs from: Longfellow Center. Min 8/Max 30 Teen Trip: Hunger Games Supervisor: Mike Loszach We are taking a trip to Hollywood Blvd. in Woodridge for the Opening Night showing of Hunger Games Mockingjay: Part 2! The Hollywood Blvd. theater features lounge chairs and servers that come out during the movie to take your food and drink order. We have a limited number of tickets available so advanced registration is required. Departs from: Longfellow Center. Please Note - Showtimes have not been released yet, but we will be going to a Friday night show- ing. Exact times will be communicated as we get closer to the trip date. Min 8/Max 13 Teen Trip: Indoor Skydiving Supervisor: Mike Loszach Are you ready to try something new and exciting? Join us for a trip to iFly Indoor Skydiving arena in Naperville. iFly uses a wind tunnel and giant fans to simulate Skydiving without the hassle of jump- ing out of an airplane! There is no parachute, no jumping, and nothing attaching your body to planet earth! Included in your registration is two flights per person, a video of your flight time, all flight gear, hands on assistance with a personal instructor, and a high flight. Your first flight will allow you to get the hang of things, flying about 3-6 feet off the ground with your instructor. Your second flight is your high flight where the instructor will take you on an adven- turous ride through the tunnel from top to bottom up to 20 feet in the air! Spots are limited, so sign up today! Departs from: Longfellow Center. Min 8/Max 12 Teen Trip: College Visits Supervisor: Mike Loszach Join us on your day off from school, to visit college campuses in the area. Whether you are seriously con- sidering attending these schools or just want to get an idea on what certain colleges have to offer - these trips are for you! Parents are welcome to attend as well, but all participants must register as we have a limited number of seats available on the bus. Trip Destinations: • 10/22 - Northern Illinois University (Dekalb, IL) * In- cludes Campus Walking Tour, Admissions Presentation, and Undergraduate Student Panel Presentation • 11/6 - Benedictine University (Lisle, IL) Departs from: RCRC Lobby Min 8/Max 13 JUST FOR TEENS Just for Teens Grades 6-8 Supervisor: Mike Loszach Spend the first Friday of each month skating with your friends at the new Ridgleand Common Recre- ation Complex. Enjoy great music, games, giveaways, and more! Teens may pay at the door. Supervisor: Amanda Heiman The holidays are fast-approaching! Would you like to learn how to sew so you can make fabulous gifts? In this three hour workshop, Angie will teach you how to operate your machine (or help you become more comfortable with it) and understand more about sewing terminology and tools as you sew a pillowcase. Participants will supply 1 yard of 100% cotton woven fabric (quilting cottons and flannels are recommended), sewing machine and scissors. Machine rental is available upon request - please contact the program supervisor. Location: Fox Park Min 5/Max 8 Wheelthrowing: Try It Series Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Want to give the wheel a try? Join us for an evening of wheel techniques, discover, and exploration as you experience the Park District's ceramic stuido at Dole Center. Come ready to get messy and learn the basics.
