Learn about the flora and fauna in our Fern, Tropical and Desert showrooms, and our changing seasonal displays. Group Tours Group tours are available for all ages. To arrange a tour, please complete your tour application at fopcon.org. Plant Clinic, Mondays 2-4pm Staff will help with gardening questions, plant identification or disease diagnostics. We also offer a potting service. Party and Meeting Venue The Oak Park Conservatory is the ideal location for small weddings, parties, meetings and family celebrations. Parties of up to 50 guests can enjoy the unique ambience of our Tropical, Fern and Desert rooms. Call (708) 725-2400 or email poppy.vogel@pdop.org for details. Conservatory Photography Policy Professional photographers are welcome to use the Oak Park Conservatory facility for photo shoots, but a permit is required. To acquire a permit application, call the Oak Park Conserva- tory at (708) 725-2400. Tripods are not allowed during open hours. Conservatory Gift Shop Open Su & Tu-Sa from 10 am-4 pm Shop local and support local artists, photogra- phers, and business! New in the gift shop we offer an array of Melissa and Doug children's garden- ing toys & an excellent selection of children's gardening and nature books for all ages. Join Us for the Final Uncorked of the Season Friday, September 26, $15 per person (ages 21 and up ONLY) Come hear the Szurko Trio, nibble appetizers and drink craft beer & wine from Marion Street Cheese Market, be tempted by art from Beth Ryza, participate in a Conservatory tour and enjoy the beautiful sur- roundings. The time is as always, 6:00 – 8:00. What a great way to relax early on a Friday evening. Exploration Station at the Conservatory - FREE! September through May Mondays from 10:30am-12:30pm Saturdays from 10:30am-12:30pm Come try hands-on activities at the Exploration Sta- tion! There is a new topic each month highlighting special aspects of the Conservatory for both adults and children. Also open 10:30A-12:30P on Monday school holidays! This program is presented by the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory. • September: Monarch Butterflies, King of the Insect World • October: Go Batty for Bats • November: Habitat : Deserts • December: Festival of Colors Toddler Exploration Time – FREE! Third Fridays from 10:30-11:15am (18 to 35 months) and 12:15-1:00pm (3 to 5 year olds.) This special interactive time for you and your toddler, offered September through November and January through May, will open up the natural world as you explore together the wonders of nature at the Oak Park Conservatory. You and your toddler will interact during guided activities, facilitated by a docent, and highlighting a different topic each month. Space is limited to 15 children and their caregivers for each event, first come, first served! This program is presented by the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory in conjunction with Parenthesis Family Center. • September: Backyard Animals • October: Color • November: Plants to Eat Fall Perennial and Tool Exchange Saturday, September 12 Want to share some of the bounty in your garden or have too many gardening tools? Then come to the Perennial and Tool Exchange. Drop off potted and labeled perennial house plants and garden tools in the Rubinstein Garden, from 9:30 until 11:30am. Return between Noon-12:30 pm to pick from the plants and tools donated by others. This is a great way to aquire some new plants and tools.
