50 www.pdop.org Parent Tot Sports Supervisor: Dan Schaffer This program gives you and your child an opportunity to bond and have fun together while learning a variety of sports. This class is great for simple motor skills such as catching, throwing, batting, shooting, passing, and anything that involves hand-eye coordination. Parents participate with the child as we play soccer, basketball, hockey, t-ball, and many other sports. Min 6/Max 21 Class does not meet: 3/15 Floor Hockey Supervisor: Dan Schaffer This class emphasizes the fundamentals of floor hockey: shooting, puck handling, passing. Participants will learn the rules of the game and develop skills throughout the session. Sticks will be provided by the Park District. Equipment: Please have your child bring a bike helmet or hockey helmet each week. Basic skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense will be taught. Games will also be played to show the importance of teamwork in game situations. Min 6/Max 21 Football Supervisor: Dan Schaffer This class is designed to teach and enhance the skills of our future stars. Proper techniques on passing, receiving, blocking, and kicking will be covered. Breakdown of offensive and defensive strategies will also be covered. Teamwork and positive play are highly stressed, but the main objective is to have fun. Min 6/Max 21 YOUTH SPORTS Youth Sports Instructional Basketball League Supervisor: Dan Schaffer Join our Instructional Youth Basketball League for 1st and 2nd Graders! Practice/scrimmages will be held on Saturdays for one hour. The first two weeks will be practice only and the next four weeks will be split between 30 minutes of practice and 30 minutes for scrimmaging. No experience is necessary. A mini size basketball will be used for all practices/games. Times for practices/scrimmages will be anywhere from 9am- 2pm and will last one hour. Player requests are not taken. league is open to boys and girls both! Min 40/Max 100 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! We need coaches & referees! Kids' Super Bowl Event for Ages 4-6 Supervisor: Karyn DeYoung The Super Bowl is not just a game, it's an event! Good food, good company and great sport! This will be a fun afternoon just for kids where we'll make our own jerseys, practice field goals and enjoy classic football food! Drop off program. Dinner is provided. Space is limited, sign up today! Min 10/Max 40 Fencing (Beginner through Advanced) Supervisor: Chad Drufke En garde! Diana Unger, a certified coach with the United States Fencing Association with 25+ years of experience, will teach you the basics of fencing. Fencing requires patience, concentration, discipline, and self-awareness. Self-confidence, self-control, and emotional strength gained from this sport will lead to a healthier lifestyle. Weapons, jackets, and masks will be provided and shared among classmates. Min 4/Max 10
