Adult Arts
Supervisor: Amanda Heiman
This 4 week art course will get you excited about the
arts. Each 4 week session will cover a different
medium. In each evening class artists will create
masterpieces that are sure to be wall worthy:
Section I: Drawing- Line drawing, composition,
perspective, light and shadow. In this 4 week session
artists will start with pencil and charcoal then progress
on to the use of pen and ink.
Section II: Painting- In this 4 week session artists
will learn how to make/stretch a canvas, about color
theory, and will work from different still-lifes and props.
Section III: Mixed Media- You will use different
materials such as fabric, paper, found objects,
cardboard, chicken fence, etc. . . . to make 3D objects
are sure to excite any artist. Each class during this 4
week session a different project will be assigned.

Chef's Table Mardi Gras
Supervisor: Poppy Vogel
Join Chef Ron Martin at his Cheft's Table for a Mardi
Gras Celebration. There is more to Mardi Gras than
Hurricanes, Crawfish Etouffee and King Cake. Bring
your favorite bottle of wine to share. This is an HANDS
ON teaching program, not just demonstration.

Adult Ceramics

Get creative and express yourself in this 8 week
program that will focus on basic wheel throwing and
hand building techniques. Kris will provide instruc-
tion each week along with ideas for projects you can
individualize: tiles, mugs,
bowls, teapots, and more.
Continuing students are encouraged to register and
use this class to enhance their skills. Clay, glazes, and
firing are included in the fee. Depending on where
your creativity takes you . . . class time allows for both
wheel throwing and hand building opportunties.
Please note the studio only has 6 wheels for use dur-
ing class hours.

Mug Making & More
Supervisor: Amanda Heiman
Make a mug to hold your favorite beverage or a
bowl for your table! Handbuilding techniques, as
well as opportunities to try your hand at the wheel,
allow you creative freedom to make your perfect
piece. All materials are included - note we only
have 6 wheels available for use so worktime is split
between handbuilding and wheelwork (pending
class counts and preferences).

Cheese Making 101:
Chevre & Mozzarella
Supervisor: Poppy Vogel
Join Jill Niewoehner of Mamagrows.com and learn to
make fresh cheeses in your own kitchen using equip-
ment you already own. You will learn the basics about
different kinds of milk, pasteurization, homogeniza-
tion, and food sanitation as we make and sample
chevre and fresh mozzarella. This is a hands
on work-
shop. Participants will leave with samples, recipes,
and ingredients to make some more cheese at home.
Vegetarian rennet will be used. Material cost included
in the class fee. Note: Registration is required one week
in advance of class start date to allow materials to be
purchased for all participants.

Cheese Making 102: Brie
Supervisor: Poppy Vogel
Join Jill Niewoehner of Mamagrows.com and learn
to make aged Brie in your own kitchen. With some
easy to find equipment and a little know how, you will
be impressing your friends and enjoying homemade
delicious aged cheese in no time.You will learn the
basics about different kinds of milk, pasteurization,
homogenization, and food sanitation as we make Brie
for you to take home and age in your refrigerator. This
is a hands on workshop. Participants will leave with
a homemade aging box, their cheese, a recipe, and
ingredients to make some more at home. Vegetarian
rennet will be used. Material cost included in the class
fee. Note: Registration is required one week in advance
of class start date to allow materials to be purchased
for all participants

Didn't have time to finish your project in class or
just need extra studio time? For those enolled in any
ceramics class this season we are offering open studio
hours. FREE for current students - Just show up! Not a
current student? $15/person to come play with clay!
