52 www.pdop.org Tennis Lessons Our youth tennis program consists of 3 age groups of players including Pee Wee (Ages 4-5), Jr. Youth (Ages 6-9) and Youth (Ages 10-13). You'll learn the fundamentals of tennis in these programs. See below for descriptions of skills taught for each age level. Pee Wee Tennis (Ages 4-5) Supervisor: Dan Schaffer Includes instruction on gripping the raquet, proper tennis swing, ball control and movement on the tennis court. All participants should bring their own raquet. Min 6/Max 20 Jr. Youth Tennis (Ages 6-9) Supervisor: Dan Schaffer Includes instruction on basic skills and also focuses on forehand, backhand and the volley. All participants should bring their own raquet. Min 6/Max 20 Youth Tennis (Ages 10-13) Supervisor: Dan Schaffer Designed to provide further instruction on forehand and backhand swings, volley tennis drills and positioning on the court. All participants should bring their own raquet. Min 6/Max 20 Advanced Tennis Clinic Supervisor: Dan Schaffer ese new one-day tennis clinics will take you to the next level with each date having a specific focus. Sign up for one, or sign up for them all. Clinics include: Serve and Return For Intermediate and Advanced Players. e athletes will fine-tune their toss, contact point, and follow through on their serves. When ready, the athletes will also work on the different grips and toss placement for kick and slice serves. Athletes will get practice returning the serves and attempting to dictate the point with the return. Serve and Volley For Intermediate and Advanced Players - Serve and volley gives the athlete an added wrinkle to their game. Learn to serve and volley effectively to put pressure on their opponent. Athletes will work on serve placement, volleying skills, and court movement to be able to implement an aggressive match strategy. Doubles Play For Intermediate and Advanced Players - Athletes will work on getting comfortable with doubles strategies and court movement. Players will learn general signs to help dictate serves and poaching opportunities in a team enviroment. Tennis Conditioning and Ground Stroke Work For Intermediate and Advanced Players - Athletes will go through a collegiate-level conditioning work out that will include work on stretching, quick responses, strength, footwork, and stamina. e players will also get an opportunity to fine-tune their forehand and backhand ground strokes. Whether you are picking up a club for the first time or looking to reduce your handicap to single digits, make a great investment and take a lesson from our professionals. Each class will have a 6 to 1 ratio of students to instructor. Lessons take place at the Learning Center at Fresh Meadow Golf Club is located at 11302 Cermak Road in Hillside, IL.
