Try-it Wheel Throwing Workshop

Want to give the wheel a try? Join us for an evening
of wheel techniques, discovery and exploration as
you experience the Park District's ceramics studio
at Dole Center. Come ready to get messy and learn
the basics. Please note the studio only has 6 wheels;
therefore space is limited.

Open Ceramic Studio Times
Supervisor: Amanda Heiman
Didn't have time to finish your project in class? Was
absent one day? Just need extra studio time? For
those enrolled in any ceramics class this season, we
are offering open studio hours one day a month.
Come in starting at 6pm and stay until 10pm,
giving you ample time to put those final touches on
your masterpieces. Not a current ceramic student?
No problem, pay $15 in advance a person to come
play with clay!

Family Ceramics

Explore a variety of hand building techniques with
your child. Projects vary from pinch pots to tiles, to
sculptures and more! Come ready to get messy. Fee
covers one child, one adult, and material costs.

Kids will learn simple ceramics as well as building
and glazing skills through specially designed
projects. is class focuses on hand building
techniques. Clay, glazes, and tools will be provided.

Family Wheel Throwing
Supervisor: Amanda Heiman
Explore the use of the wheel and basic throwing
techniques in a family-friendly class. All
participants will learn how to throw on the wheel.
Wheel practice will take place weekly in addition to
learning the basics of glazing and pottery creation.

Summer Theatre Camp for Girls
Oak Park Festival eatre offers two one-week camps in Austin Gardens.
In cooperation with the Viola Project, the camps provide a space for girls
ages 10-16 to explore classic texts while engaging in vibrant discussion of
