Starved Rock Trip Supervisor: Shari Melde See Starved Rock from the water! You'll also see the wildlife living on Plum Island (egrets, cranes, migratory birds such as pelicans and more). Tour includes a hot lunch in the rustic dining room of the Starved Rock Lodge, a historic trolley ride and a leisurely 50-minute Illinois River cruise on the Belle of the Rock, an authentic paddlewheel boat. Min 10/Max 13 Brookfield Zoo Trip Supervisor: Shari Melde e Brookfield Zoo houses 450 species of animals on 216 acres. Hop aboard the zoo's open air Motor Safari trams and take a narrated tour of the entire zoo. Your Motor Safari ticket entitles you to ride all day. You can get on or off at any of four stations. Min 10/Max 13 Field Museum Supervisor: Shari Melde Have a close up and personal experience with the largest, most complete T. Rex ever found, the famous SUE. Enjoy permanent exhibits like Inside Ancient Egypt where you can explore an ancient marketplace filled with ceramics, jewelry, games, and other artifacts of daily life 2,000 years ago. Other permanent exhibits include the Granger Hall of Gems, Hall of Jades and a Fossil Prep Lab, where you can watch Field Museum scientists prepare ancient specimens for display and research. Min 8/Max 13 Lake Geneva Luncheon Cruise Supervisor: Shari Melde Come along and enjoy the scenic wonders of Lake Geneva, a historical glacier-made spring fed lake. We will enjoy a restful, leisurely cruise past the estates, many built between 1870 and 1920. e luncheon cruise includes an informative narrated tour of the lake on board the Grande Belle designed aer turn-of-the-century steamers, including brass furnishings and pine decks. Aer lunch we will have time to shop and explore the local shops in the center of Lake Geneva. Min 10/Max 13 Cabaret Lunch Cruise Supervisor: Shari Melde ere's no better way to see the Chicago skyline than from the water. Snap pictures of the John Hancock Center and Willis Tower while you dine, then head topside for group shots and selfies from Spirit's rooop lounge. e Spirit of Chicago Cabaret will delight you with everything from show tunes to jazz favorites along with plenty of opportunities to dance and sing along. Min 8/Max 13 Chicago Botanic Gardens Supervisor: Shari Melde e Botanic Gardens boast 26 gardens and four natural areas uniquely situated on and around nine islands, with six miles of lake shoreline. Choose from one of the Tram Tours, either the Grand Tram Tour or the Bright Encounters Tour, each lasting approximately 35 minutes. Tram Tour is included however lunch will be on your own. Min 8/Max 13 "My Fair Lady" at Light Opera Works Supervisor: Shari Melde Feisty Eliza Doolittle turns the professor's life upside down in this joyous and witty battle of the sexes–one of Broadway's most dazzling and beloved musicals. Famous well know songs from the musical include I Could Have Danced All Night, I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face, On the Street Where You Live, Get Me to the Church on Time and With a Little Bit of Luck. We will have a light lunch at e Little Gem Café' in Oak Park and then board the bus for the theatre. (Lunch is included) Min 10/Max 20 Chinatown Museum and Lunch Supervisor: Shari Melde Take a Chicago Water Taxi on the Chicago River from the Loop to Chinatown. Visit the Chinese- American Museum of Chicago, be introduced to dim sum at lunch and explore the interesting shops that line the streets of Chinatown. Lunch is included. Min 10/Max 13 Springfield Overnight Supervisor: Shari Melde All Aboard! Travel with us to Springfield by train. We will travel by train to Springfield and stay overnight at e State House Inn and wake up to a free full breakfast. Spend the day visiting historic sites such as the Old State Capitol Building, Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Lincoln Herndon Law Offices as well as the Lincoln Presidential Museum. Or choose to visit the Illinois State Fair with its rides, attractions, entertainment and agricultural exhibits. Aer a fun filled day, we will board the train and make our way home with lots of great memories. Meals (except breakfast) and incidentals are on your own. Fee is for double occupancy, single rooms will incur an additional charge. Min 10/Max 13 "Mame" at Light Opera Works Supervisor: Shari Melde Everyone's favorite Auntie Mame celebrates the Roaring 20s, overcomes tragedy and sails through life without missing a fad or a dance step. e musical features these show-stopping songs: Open a New Window, If He Walked into My Life, We Need a Little Christmas and the title song Mame. We will enjoy a light lunch at e Little Gem Café' in Oak Park and then board the bus for the theatre. (Lunch is included). Min 10/Max 19 Grant Park Music Fest Supervisor: Shari Melde Board the bus for an outing under the stars and skyline at Millennium Park. Enjoy world class musical performances among friends and neighbors.
