SnowPlow Sam 1
Ages 3-5 (no parent)
Supervisor: Kyle Sandine
Snowplow Sam help skaters develop the
preliminary coordination and strength to be
comfortable on ice and to maneuver on the ice.
Sam 1 introduces students to skating through siting
and standing in skates, marching in place, marching
forward, gliding and dipping.
Class does not meet 5/28
SnowPlow Sam 2
Ages 3-5 (no parent)
Supervisor: Kyle Sandine
Prerequisite: Participants must receive passing
permission from level 1 prior to entering this level.
Building from the previous level, Snowplow Sam
2 develops marching into glides, moving dips,
backward wiggle, rocking horse swizzles, forward
swizzles, two foot hop. Skaters should have passed
previous level/equivalent or receive permission
from program coordinator.
SnowPlow Sam 3
Ages 3-5 (no parent)
Supervisor: Kyle Sandine
Prerequisite: Participants must receive passing
permission from level 2 prior to entering this level.
Building from the previous level, Snowplow Sam 3
develops forward skating, one foot glides, traveling
forward and backward swizzles, forward snowplow
stops and curves. Skaters should have passed
previous level/equivalent or receive permission
from program coordinator.
Basic 1
Ages 6-15
Supervisor: Kyle Sandine
Basic 1 is for participants who are new to figure
skating. Participants learn to sit and stand up,
marching, forward glides, dip, travel forward
swizzles, backward wiggles, snowplow stop, rocking
horse and two foot hop.
Basic 2
Ages 6-15
Supervisor: Kyle Sandine
Prerequisite: Participants must receive passing
permission from level 2 prior to entering this level.
Building from the previous level, Basic 2 develops
one foot glides, backward two foot glides, traveling
backward swizzles, two foot turn in place, moving
snowplow stop, and forward alternating half
swizzle pumps in a line. Skaters should have passed
previous level/equivalent or receive permission
from program coordinator.
Basic 3
Ages 6-15
Supervisor: Kyle Sandine
Prerequisite: Participants must receive passing
permission from level 1 prior to entering this level.
Building from the previous level, Basic 3 develops
forward stroking, half swizzle pumps on a circle,
forward and backward moving two foot turn,
backward one foot glide, forward slalom, and two
foot spin. Skaters should have passed previous level/
equivalent or receive permission from program
coordinator.

Basic 4
Ages 6-15

Prerequisite: Participants must receive passing
permission from level 3 prior to entering this level.
Building from the previous level, Basic 4 develops
forward outside and inside edges in a circle,
forward crossovers, forward outside three-turn
from stand still, backward half swizzle pumps in
circle, backward stroking, and backward snowplow
stop. Skaters should have passed previous level/
equivalent or receive permission from program
coordinator.
Basic 5/6
Ages 6-15
Supervisor: Kyle Sandine
Prerequisite: Participants must receive passing
permission from level 4 prior to entering this level.
Building from the previous level, Basic 5 develops
backward outside and inside edges in a circle,
backward crossovers, beginning one foot spin,
hockey stop, side toe hop in both directions. Skaters
should have passed previous level/equivalent or
receive permission from program coordinator.
Basic 7/8
Ages 6-15
Supervisor: Kyle Sandine
Prerequisite: Participants must receive passing
permission from level 5/6 prior to entering this
level. Building from the previous level, Basic 7
develops forward inside Mohawk from standstill,
backward outside edge to forward outside edge on a
circle, ballet jump, backward crossovers to backward
outside edge glides, forward inside pivots. Skaters
should have passed previous level/equivalent or
receive permission from program coordinator.
