36 www.pdop.org Skating - Youth Bronze Free Skate Ages 6-18 Supervisor: Kyle Sandine Prerequisite: Participants must receive passing permission from the program coordinator prior to entering this class. Building from the previous level, Bronze Free Skate will work on landing the axel and develop a lutz/loop jump combination, layback spin, back camel spin, backward power three turns in circle and straight line brackets. Axel must be landed consistently to move to Advance Jumps and Spins. Skaters should have passed previous level/ equivalent or receive permission from program coordinator. Advanced Jump & Spin Ages 6-18 Supervisor: Kyle Sandine Prerequisite: Must receive passing permission from the program coordinator prior to entering this level. Building from the previous level, Advance Jump and Spin will develop double jumps and advanced spinning including flying camel and flying sit spin, illusions, continuous walleys, rockers and counters in pattern. e first 20 minutes of class will be a warm-up and edge class. Snowplow FUNdamentals Ages 3-5 Supervisor: Kyle Sandine is class is a new twist on traditional skating! FUNdamentals is designed for skaters who are interested in the physical activity provided by skating without the strict focus on developing skating elements. is program will feature stations that will assist in developing balance and essential skating skills as well as showcasing the variety of games that will be played on the ice! Basic FUNdamentals Ages 6-16 Supervisor: Kyle Sandine is class is a new twist on traditional skating! Moves in the Field Ages 8-18 Supervisor: Kyle Sandine Are you an aspiring competitive skater? Do you want to get exposure to all the elements skating can offer? Moves in the Field is the program for you! is class will provide upper level skaters the opportunity to work toward making the next step in skating in the hope of showcasing for competition committees. is 4-week class will provide an overview for what is required to compete for skating certifications as well as practice the moves required to pass. Synchro Class Supervisor: Kyle Sandine Ready to add a team element to skating? Synchronized skating is a large and fast-growing discipline of figure skating where skaters perform on ice as a team, moving as one flowing unit at high speeds. Give synchronized skating a try! is class will teach the basics of the sport and incorporate skills learned in other classes into the group setting. is program is for all levels of skaters and for participants age 6-18. ese workshops will give skaters a taste of what being on a synchro team is all about. Adult Beginner Supervisor: Kyle Sandine e adult beginner class is designed for the adult new to skating. It promotes physical fitness and improved balance and coordination while teaching proper skating techniques. is level introduces skating by developing falling and recovery, forward marching, forward glides and forward swizzles, snowplow stops, two foot turns and gliding into dips.
