Park Renewal Projects
Rehm Park Site Plan Revisit
You are invited to provide your input regarding future improvements to Rehm
Park at a community meeting to be held on Tuesday, September 20 at 7pm at the
Oak Park Conservatory. A site plan outlining park improvements was originally
developed in 2008. It is Park District policy to review all plans every 10 years. You
can view the current site plan at pdop.org and search for park planning projects.
Please mark your calendar for Tuesday, September 20.
Mini-Libraries in Our Parks

Parks and Austin Gardens. Stop by one of these
locations to pick up or donate a book today.
Environmental Education Center Grand Opening – June 11, 2016
e new Austin Gardens Environmental Education Center.

e 1,400 gallon cistern captures rainwater from the
roof and repurposed it for flushing toilets in the center
and to water the nearby rain garden.
Children enjoyed making cras out of nature objects during the grand opening
festivities. is room will host the nature preschool program in fall 2016.
Five new interpretive signs provide useful
information about many of the sustainable
features in the park.
Maple Park Renovation Project
A major section of Maple Park is now closed as the park undergoes a major renovation. is project will include ballfield improvements, playground replacement and
relocation to the east along Maple Avenue, construction of a picnic shelter adjacent to the playground, new climbing structures in between the ballfields, and new looped
pathways. is project is expected to be completed by December 2016.
