Learn the tips and benefits from some of the most successful Chicago urban veggie patches and how to bring them home to your place of work, school or home. Each participant will create a raised vegetable garden to take home with home grown Conservatory vegetable plants. Min 8/Max 16 Spring Lawn Care Supervisor: Leah Pryor is class will show you how to rejuvenate your lawn aer the winter months with tips on de- thatching, irrigation, over-seeding and fertilizer applications; as well as how to start a spring lawn from seed. Information on morning water and pest disease control throughout summer will be covered. Min 10/Max 30 Growing Your Own Mushrooms Supervisor: Leah Pryor You can grow your own mushrooms at home! Workshop participants will prepare and inoculate logs with shiitake mushrooms, learn to care for and grow the mushroom log, and learn how to harvest their mushroom crop. is is an active workshop where you will be using power tools, getting dirty, and doing some liing. Take home two inoculated logs to start your own mushroom farm. Please wear appropriate clothing for this workshop and bring work gloves, if you have them. Material cost is included in the class fee. Min 8/Max 10 Ladies Night Out Flower Party Supervisor: Leah Pryor Gather your friends, sisters or mom for a night of fun and flowers! We are surrounding ourselves with fresh flowers from the garden and will put together a gorgeous arrangement for you to take home while enjoying hors d'oeuvres, music and wine!
