Lincoln Park Zoo Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Lincoln Park Zoo is a world of wildlife in the shadow of skyscrapers. Located within a verdant park just minutes north of Chicago, the zoo has been a natural, free oasis for generations of animal lovers, who visit the zoo to hear a lion's roar echo off nearby apartment buildings, see gorillas climb trees as the Willis Tower looms in the distance, or forget where they are as they immerse themselves in tropical rainforests, dry-thorn forests or spacious savannas. We will also experience e Lionel Train Adventure, a track-less 28-passenger train which winds its way throughout the park. Min 10/Max 26 Taliesin Tour Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Experience the interiors of two significant, yet distinctly different Wright-designed buildings, Hillside and Taliesin. Created for the Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiast and the casual visitor, the Highlights Tour couples the history and masterful design of two building complexes into one quick- paced 2-hour tour. In addition to visiting the two buildings, this tour includes a drive through the scenic Taliesin grounds past Midway Farm, Taliesin's historic farming complex. We will travel to Spring Green, WI, a three-hour drive with convenience stops along the way. When we arrive, we will have lunch at Freddy Valentine's Public House and begin the tour at 1:45 and begin the return trip to Oak Park at 3:45P. Explore 8 acres of shopping, eating, drinking, live music and entertainment with 300+ vendors of vintage, antique, indie and global goods. Min 10/Max 26 Adler Planetarium Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Join us in exploring this historic planetarium opened in 1930. e Adler Planetarium is America's first planetarium and boasts a 60,000 square foot Sky Pavilion featuring four exhibit halls and the iconic Atwood Sphere, a 17-foot-diameter large- scale mechanical planetarium which celebrated its 100th birthday in 2013. First opened in1913, it's the oldest one in the United States and was first used to help teach pilots how to navigate the nighttime sky. e Café Galileo also has one of the best views of the Chicago skyline. Fee includes transportation and admission. Lunch will be on your own. Min 10/Max 26 Springfield Train Excursion Supervisor: Amanda Heiman All Aboard! Travel with us to Springfield by train. e spirit of the "Land of Lincoln" is nowhere else so alive as it is in Springfield, one time home to Honest Abe himself and present home to many world- renowned Lincoln institutions. Train ticket and admission to the Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum included. Lunch will be on your own. Min 10/Max 13 Pabst Mansion and Brewery Tour Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Aer taking in all the elegance of the Pabst Mansion's interiors, we will head over to the "Best Place" at the historic brewery. ere we will be taken back to 1844 and learn how the Best & Company Brewery was transformed into the Pabst Brewing Company of today. See Blue Ribbon Hall, e Captain's Courtyard, and the King's Courtyard and visit the Vintage Gi Shop. To top it all off, we will complete our tour with a sampling of Pabst in the Best Place Tavern. Min 10/Max 26 Museum of Mexican Art in Pilsen Supervisor: Amanda Heiman e National Museum of Mexican Art stands out as one of the most prominent first-voice institutions for Mexican art and culture in the United States. e museum is home to one of the country's largest Mexican art collections, including more than 9,000 seminal pieces from ancient Mexico to the present. Aer the museum, we will stroll the streets of the Pilsen area and have lunch at Nuevo Leon Restaurant. Min 10/Max 26
