41 www.pdop.org Polar Cubs 1 Ages 3-5 Supervisor: Kayla Fauria Polar Cubs 1 focuses on skating only, as the program believes in establishing strong skaters from the beginning before introducing aspects of the game. Practice outside of lessons is HIGHLY encouraged. Equipment Required: Skates (No Double Runners), Helmet (Hockey), Knee Pads, Gloves (Winter or Hockey), and Elbow Pads. Min 4/Max 8 Class does not meet 5/27 Polar Cubs 2 Ages 3-5 Supervisor: Kayla Fauria Passing Requirement: Passing Polar Cubs 1. Polar Cubs 2 will learn advanced skating techniques. Skills developed in this class include striding, stopping and turning techniques, and an introduction to edges and backward movement. is level introduces introductory hockey skills such as sweep shots, sweep passes, and basic puck handling. Equipment required: skates, knee/shin pads, elbow pads, gloves and a helmet. Min 4/Max 8 Class does not meet: 5/27 Polar Cubs 3 Ages 3-5 Supervisor: Kayla Fauria Prerequisites: Participants must successfully pass Polar Cubs 2 prior to entering Polar Cubs 3.Developing on skills from the previous levels, Polar Cubs 3 develops more advanced skills. skaters will learn to make quicker and precise movements and transitions by further developing the stride, stopping and backward skating. is level also introduces puck handling and crossovers.
