Register for this program that will take place at Ascension gym. A gym supervisor will organize game play; no instruction will be given. You must be registered in advance to participate; this is not a drop-in program. Min 10/Max 20 Adult Fencing Supervisor: Chad Drue En garde! Diana Unger is a certified coach with the United States Fencing Association with over 30 years of experience. You will learn the basic principles of foil fencing. e quickness and athleticism of the sport will lead to a healthier lifestyle. Fencing can boost confidence, improve self-control, and increase emotional strength. Weapons, jackets, and masks will be provided and shared among classmates. Participants must obtain a $10 U.S. Fencing membership prior to first day of class. (www.usafencing.org) Min 4/Max 10 Adult Pickleball Supervisor: Chad Drue What is the fastest growing sport in the U.S.A? It's PICKLEBALL. Pickleball is a paddle sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Pickleball can be played on a tennis court with the dimensions of a badminton court and a lowered net. It is played with a perforated plastic baseball (similar to a whiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles. It is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. Players registered will play pickup games on a rotating basis. No instruction is given. Equipment will be provided by the Park District. Min 8/Max 16 Golf Lessons Supervisor: Chad Drue ere is no better way to improve your game than taking lessons from a trained golf instructor. Group instruction is an excellent way to receive the essential information on not only how to swing but how to putt, chip, and play the game better! Whether you are picking up a club for the first time or looking to reduce your handicap to single digits, make a great investment and take a lesson from a Professional. Each class will have a 6 to 1 ratio of students to instructor and lessons focus weekly on proper grip and posture, putting, full swing, and chipping. e Learning Center at Fresh Meadow Golf Club is located at 11302 Cermack Road in Hillside, IL. Min 4/Max 20 PDOP Open Gym Basketball AT FENWICK HIGH SCHOOL! e Park District of Oak Park is excited to host open gym basketball at Fenwick High School for Oak Park resident families! Purchase a yearlong open gym pass at GRC or RCRC for only $10. • All attendees must have a pass. • Children in 6th - 8th grades may attend by themselves. • Children in 5th grade and younger must be accompanied by a parent/adult. • Any adults in attendance must be accompanying a child.
