Adult Trips (50+) Swedish American Museum Tuesday, July 11 Supervisor: Rhonda Connor Located in Chicago's historical Swedish neighborhood of Andersonville, this museum highlights the history, culture and traditions of the Swedish immigrants in Chicago. e 24,000 square-foot cultural museum features a gallery with special art exhibits, "e Dream of America" exhibit, and the Brunk Children's Museum of Immigration. Aer our museum visit, lunch is on your own. Feel free to walk to a nearby restaurant to experience traditional Swedish meatballs or Swedish pancakes. Admission and transportation included. Min 10/Max 26 Grant Park Music Fest Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 2 Friday, July 14 Supervisor: Rhonda Connor Board the bus for an outing under the stars and skyline at Millennium Park to enjoy world class musical performances. Bring a picnic, snack, drinks, and a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the sounds. e music plays 6:30-8P, with the remainder of the time designated for finding the perfect spot, enjoying one another's company, and snacking! Transportation included. Min 10/Max 26 Architectural Boat Tour Wednesday, July 19 Supervisor: Rhonda Connor e Chicago Architecture Foundation River Cruise aboard Chicago's First Lady is a "must". Float along the Chicago River as trained docents interpret more than 50 buildings along the river, revealing how the city grew from a small back-country outpost into one of the world's most important crossroads in less than 100 years. Tour starts at 10:00A and lunch will be on your own at any number of nearby restaurants. Ticket and transportation included. Travel with us to Springfield by train. e spirit of the "Land of Lincoln" is nowhere else so alive as it is in Springfield, one time home to Honest Abe himself and present home to many world- renowned Lincoln institutions. Train ticket and admission to the Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum included. Lunch will be on your own. Min 10/Max 13 Shipshewana Flea Market Wednesday, August 9 Supervisor: Rhonda Connor e Shipshewana Flea Market is the Midwest's largest flea market with weekly antique, livestock and horse auctions. Vendors offer a variety of products and truly have something for everyone - vintage items, quirky novelties, fresh seasonal produce, hand-made goods, re-purposed cras, handcraed furniture, clothes, home decor, cleaning supplies, snacks, accessories and everything in between. You will find vendors who offer something for everyone - new items, old items, quirky items, hand-made items, re-purposed items, and food. e Shipshewana Flea Market is a do-not-miss Hoosier tradition with nearly 900 booths in an open-air market covering 100 acres.
