Your instructor will create a variety of still life setups for you to choose from, as you learn basic techniques. You will create a painterly masterpiece worthy of hanging on any wall! ALL skill levels welcome! Materials and wine provided! Min 6/Max 12 Coffee & Crafts at Cheney Supervisor: Amanda Heiman is class is sure to get your creative juices flowing! Participants will enjoy craing unique creations over coffee and conversation at Cheney Mansion. e instructor will provide the materials, support, and project outline - you make it your own from there! Each session introduces new ideas and new materials - spend time with fellow craers this season! Min 6/Max 12 Wood Art & Wine (21+) Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Join us at Cheney Mansion as we create a painting on wood to adorn your home this holiday season. We've all seen the stenciled signs at the store or on Pinterest . . . now let's make our own. Sip on a glass of wine while the instructor facilities and supports your creativity in this one day program. Min 6/Max 12 Beginning Birding Supervisor: Leah Pryor Birds are all around us, in our parks, yards and even on the street. Have you ever wanted to know more about them? Join us for this introductory class to learn the basics of birding. You'll learn basic silhouettes, field marks and calls. Don't forget your binoculars because we will finish class with a short walk to practice your new skills through Austin Gardens! is class is appropriate for adults over the age of 18. Min 6/Max 16 Morning Bird Walks Supervisor: Leah Pryor Grab your binoculars and practice your birding skills during these leisurely walks from Austin Gardens to Cheney Mansion. All levels welcome to join in as we try to identify neighborhood birds. Finish the morning with coffee back at the Austin Gardens Environmental Education Center! Adult Ceramics - Daytime Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Active hands lead to an active mind! Get and stay creative in this 6-week ceramics course, offered during daytime hours! You will have a chance to try wheel throwing and begin mastering hand building techniques. e teacher will provide instruction and support each week along with ideas for projects you can individualize. Note: the studio only has 6 wheels for use during class hours. All skill levels welcome! Join us for an evening or aernoon of wheel techniques, discovery, and exploration as you experience the Park District's ceramic studio at Dole Center. Come ready to get messy and learn the basics.
