INFORMATION FOR TRIPS Transportation & Trip Departure Times Transportation and parking are covered in your registration fee. Trip Start Time listed in chart: 1st Pick-up at Dole Center, 255 August Blvd 15 Minutes after listed start time: 2nd Pick-up at Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave. 20 Minutes after listed start time: 3rd/Final Pick-up at Fox Center, 624 S. Oak Park Ave. Trip Departure Time: 5-10 minutes following the 3rd pick-up, once all trip attendees are checked in. Lunch Lunch during trips will be on your own unless otherwise stated in the program description. Return Time The trip end time listed in the chart is not the return time to Oak Park, but departure time from the trip. For example if the trip ends at 3P, our trip departure time varies between 2:30-3P depending on trip location and travel time needed back to Oak Park. Therefore, please plan for up to an additional hour to return home. For example the trip that ends at 3P, may return to Oak Park between 3:30-4P. We can never predict Chicago traffic, so let's be prepared! More Detailed Trip Information Detailed information will be emailed out the week of the trip. With the email you will receive a schedule for the day's events, additional information/ attachments such as maps/menus/weather updates/ etc. and pick-up time reminders. If you do not have an email address, hard copies of the schedule, menus, maps, etc. will be provided to each attendee once you have checked in at your trip pick-up location. Special Accommodations & Additional Pick-up/ Drop-off Locations If you require special accommodations, please connect with the program coordinator at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled trip to ensure proper planning and reasonable accommodations can be made. Trip Cancellations and Wait Lists Please email or call Customer Service as soon as possible at 708-725-2000 with any cancellations that are made within two weeks of the trip. See the back pages of our brochure for refund policy. It is important to note that advanced preparation and purchasing is required for trips for such items as tickets; therefore advanced communication is essential. If you are on the wait list, you will be notified of any changes in your enrollment status. If we are unable to accommodate wait list participants, you will receive notification the Monday before the trip. Last minute cancellation? Please email or call Rhonda Connor at 708-259-1472 as soon as possible of any changes in attendance plans as we want to make sure trips get off to a timely start. We will call the numbers you have provided in our registration system should we not see you at your designated trip pick-up location within 5 minutes of the pick-up time – departure will follow 5 minutes after calls have been made. OCTOBER TRIPS Starved Rock - Overnight Wednesday & ursday, October 11-12 Supervisor: Rhonda Connor Get away to Starved Rock State Park for one of the best fall color displays in the Midwest! We will leave Oak Park Wednesday morning and head home from Starved Rock Lodge aer lunch on ursday. Upon arrival at the lodge Wednesday aernoon, feel free to relax and unwind in the indoor pool, enjoy the hot tub and sauna, or hike to explore the area. e lodge also offers massages by appointment. On ursday morning, we'll enjoy a relaxing trolley ride, and a guided, scenic walk to experience the colors of autumn. We will stroll less than a mile over 45 minutes, to take in the sights and sounds of the forest around us. Be sure to pack appropriate footwear as the trails are not paved. Dinner on Wednesday evening and extras will be on your own. Transportation, hotel stay, tour and breakfast/lunch on ursday included in fee. Fees are per person. Min 10/Max 26 Pumpkin Farm Tuesday, October 17 Supervisor: Rhonda Connor Let's go and choose a free pumpkin pie and enjoy some exciting Pig Races (10x a day), Petting Zoo, Halloween displays, and animation throughout the farm. Our visit includes the Haunted & Fun Barn, a Tractor-Pulled Hayrack Ride, and access to the Halloween shop and viewing of the baby farm animals. Transportation and free pumpkin included with your day out; lunch will be on your own. Min 10/Max 26 Ten Chimneys Estate Tour ursday, October 26 Supervisor: Rhonda Connor Lynn and Alfred named their Genesee Depot, Wisconsin, estate aer the number of chimneys on the Main House, Cottage, and Studio combined. e elegant three-story Main House has six chimneys and eighteen rooms! e Lunts' quaint country Cottage has three chimneys and five main rooms (Living Room, Kitchen, Syrie Maugham Bedroom, Library, and Bugbee Bedroom). e one-room Swedish-style log cabin Studio has one chimney. e 60-acre estate, nestled in the rolling Kettle Moraine of southeast Wisconsin, also includes a charming pool and pool house, a creamery, a greenhouse, barns, stables, and other bucolic outbuildings.
