72 www.pdop.org Youth Sports 1st-2nd Grade Basketball League Supervisor: Dan Schaffer Join our Instructional Youth Basketball League for 1st and 2nd graders! Practice/scrimmages will be held on Saturdays for an hour. e first 4 weeks will be practice only and the remaining weeks will be competitive games with referees. No experience is necessary. A basketball and jersey will be provided for each participant to keep. Volunteers are needed to coach the teams. Interested adults should contact Dan Schaffer at dan.schaffer@pdop.org. Times for practices/games will be anywhere between 9am- 2:00pm and will last for one hour. Player requests will not be taken. No games or practices will be held anksgiving weekend and during the school holiday break. Min 40/Max 100 3rd - 8th Grade Basketball League Supervisor: Dan Schaffer Our popular Youth Basketball Leagues (Grades 3-8) return again in 2017 and 2018! is year, the league will start in the fall for additional practice time before games start. All players will receive a jersey AND basketball included with the cost of registration. • Practices will take place on either Tuesday or ursday evenings between 5-9p for the 3rd-6th grade level with games on Sundays • Practices will take place on Tuesdays with games on ursdays for the 7th-8th grade level • No games or practices will be held anksgiving week and during the school holiday break. Only those players NEW to the league will have to attend the evaluation day. Volunteer coaches will utilize this assessment as the basis for draing their team at the coaches meeting. Practice and team requests will not be honored for this league. ere will be a limit of 10 players on each team to maximize playing time. Special requests for team placement cannot be granted. Practices will officially start the week of November 7 and will take place once a week on either Tuesday or ursday evenings. All practices will be aimed at fundamental skill instruction and preparation for league play. Due to school availability, some games may take place on Saturday. All divisions will compete in an annual End of Season Tournament. Please note that practices & games for all leagues will take place in Oak Park. Volunteer Head Coaches will contact players no later than November 3 with information regarding your child's practice time & location. Please note that your child's practice schedule will be consistent for the entire season (same gym, day & time). Volunteer coaches will select their practice location, time & day of the week based on their availability. is league is dependent on the utilization of volunteer coaches.
