25 www.pdop.org ANIMAL CARE LEAGUE Dog Training Program In partnership with the Animal Care League (ACL) the Park District is excited to direct you to their facility, located at 1011 Garfield Street in South Oak Park for dog obedience classes. e Animal Care League is a not-for-profit organization that has helped homeless cats, dogs and other animals since 1973. ey depend on us, their community, to support their animals in finding the perfect home and care they deserve! ACL offers a variety of programs throughout the calendar year from Puppy Start Right Classes to Minding Your Manners at their training space in Oak Park located at 1003 Garfield Street. Family Programs Off-Leash Dog Parks & Permits Residents and non-residents are invited to enjoy the Park District of Oak Park's two off-leash Dog Parks below. Your four-legged friends can expend energy exercising and become socialized with other dogs in a safe, healthy environment while you socialize with other permit holders who share your love of dogs. Dog Park Locations: Ridgeland Common Dog Park (415 Lake Street) Maple Park (1105 S. Maple Avenue) Prerequisites Permits are required to use the dog parks. To purchase a Dog Park Permit, owners must provide a proof of a valid village dog license receipt in the village of your residency, including the license number. Additionally, proof of vaccinations for the current year, including Rabies, Distemper, Kennel Cough/Bordetella, Para-influenza and Parvovirus are required. Proof of a negative fecal test for intestinal parasites within the last year must also be provided at the time of registration. Park District Dog Park Permits Permits must be purchased in-person at either the Ridgeland Common Recreation Complex or the Gymnastics and Recreation Center. Residents must provide proof of residency. Non-Resident pass sales are limited to the first 200 purchasers in a 12 month period. Permits are valid for one year from the date of purchase. Dog Park Permit Required for Park Entry Dog Parks use a key card access system. Members must bring their permit card to access the parks. Dog Parks are maintained and inspected by Park District staff. Dog owners, who are not in compliance with Dog Park rules and requirements, may be subject to fines as well as dismissal from dog park use. Family Wheel Throwing Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Explore the use of the wheel and basic throwing techniques in a family-friendly class. Wheel practice will take place weekly in addition to learning the basics of glazing. Fee covers one child and one adult. When registering please enroll the child ONLY. Min 4/Max 6 Class does not meet: 3/26 Family Ceramics Supervisor: Amanda Heiman In this class you and your child will explore a variety of hand building techniques together! Wheel introduction will also be part of the class, but please note there are only wheels therefore not all participants will use the wheel each class. Dress ready for mess.
