RESIDENT REGISTRATION OPENS Saturday, February 3 at 8:30am 8 SCIENCE AND COOKING CAMPS CONTACT: Amanda Heiman | amanda.heiman@pdop.org | (708) 725-2106 Squish, Ooze, Boom Channel your inner scientist with a week full of experimentation. Aer making slime, testing volcanoes, and more, you will be a certified junior scientist by the end of the week. Myth Busters "Busted" or "Confirmed," you be the judge. Participants will test key elements of popular beliefs, internet rumors or other myths. We will replicate the circumstance and duplicate the results, making predications along the way. Compete one myth against the next, in this action-packed camp. Full Day Science Sleuths Camp Calling all aspiring scientists! Examine the ins and outs of biology, chem- istry, physics and engineering. Whether you want to observe the stars, dig deep in the dirt, make things explode or design a machine, you'll find something to truly inspire your next discovery. The Science of Baking Why does bread rise and why are cookies so so and gooey? Unwrap the mysteries behind some of the tastiest treats. Measure, scoop and pour while you whip up some perfect pastries and learn the magic and science behind baking. Please note food takes time to bake, therefore additional camp activities will be facilitated during camp. No class July 4. Cake-a-thon Step outside the box…the cake box, that is. In this half-day camp, bakers will be taught kitchen safety, cake construction and design. ey will use their creativity to plan and plate the perfect cake. Creative Cooking Learn the basics of recipe reading and cooking while creating a unique dish every day. End the week by putting it all together and creating a dining experience camp style. Full Day Baker's Battle Camp Si, roll and pipe your way through this delicious duel. From brownies to cookies you'll prepare a different delicacy each day. End the week by creating the best batch and competing for the golden whisk. Will you be the next baker's battle champion? Extended Camp begins immediately following the end of day camp and runs from 3 - 6pm. is camp runs similar to our aer school pro- grams—without the homework time! Snack, free-time, and planned small and large group activities extend your camper's day. Only offered for full-day camps.
