Art, music, and stories will be part of the fun as participants gain an appreciation for other cultures. is is an introductory class that will involve repetition to increase exposure, comprehension, and connections to everyday activities that are familiar to our learners. Min 6/Max 12 Kids in Motion Supervisor: Barb Grooms Get heart rates up using large muscle movements including marching, jumping, and running. Parachute play will add to the fun as they learn how to control movements in space through active songs and games. Let's move it! Min 6/Max 10 Mini Chefs Supervisor: Barb Grooms Enjoy mixing, stirring, measuring, and pouring to create something tasty. Could it be pizza? Pasta? Pineapple pancakes? Whatever it will be, it will be delicious! Take home a new recipe with you each week. Additional activities connected to the weekly cooking theme will also keep your little chef busy while things are cookin' in the kitchen! Min 6/Max 10 Little Actors: Improv Supervisor: Barb Grooms Does your child like to take the stage? Are they always singing, dancing, twirling, or pretending? Well send them to us each Wednesday! Each week, your child will be given props and costumes while they explore the art of improvisation with friends. ey will have the opportunity to be creative, while developing communication and cooperation skills. Min 6/Max 10 Kids in the Kitchen Supervisor: Barb Grooms We are stirring up a recipe for learning and fun! In this class, your child will enhance both math and reading skills by following easy snack recipes. Table manners will be encouraged as participants enjoy their aernoon snack and conversation with friends. Each child will take home a complete recipe book on the final day of class. Min 5/Max 10 Lunch Bunch Supervisor: Barb Grooms Let's meet for lunch together! Your child will learn meal time manners as they enjoy table conversation with friends. Lunch will be followed by a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Healthy eating and exercise will be encouraged as your child enjoys an aernoon with friends. Please have your child bring a peanut/nut-free lunch. Participants who also attend Pre-K should bring their lunch the morning of the program. Min 8/Max 18 Class does not meet: 1/15, 1/26, 2/19, 3/20, 3/26; 3/27; 3/29; 3/30 Is My Child Ready for Kindergarten? Wednesday, April 11, 6:30-7:45pm Barrie Center Join a District 97 Kindergarten teacher for a FREE interactive presentation and Q&A about kindergarten readiness. Academic skills and social/emotional development will be highlighted. Free child care will be available. No pre-registration required.
