Each family art night will consist of 1-2 projects around the planned theme for the evening, as well as snack time and extension activities. Min 6/Max 18 April - Nature - Weather May - Art - Rocks & Roll Spring Family Photos Supervisor: Leah Pryor Have a beautiful, professional children's portrait taken among the spring flowers inside the Oak Park Conservatory. You will receive a sitting session for up to three children and one 8x10 photo. A la carte packages are available for additional cost. Please register for one time slot. Families with more than 3 children must register for an additional time slot to accommodate family size. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your session start time. Family Dance Night Supervisor: Candace Lee Enjoy a live DJ with easy to follow instructions for group dances, games, and free dance time. (Fee is for the entire family.) Min 8/Max 25 Family Bird Houses Supervisor: Leah Pryor Work together and get creative to build and decorate a birdhouse from scratch! Bring home your avian oasis and the birds are sure to flock to your yard! Min 6/Max 18 Citizen Science Saturday Supervisor: Leah Pryor Citizen Science allows non-professional science enthusiast to take part in data collection. It's a great way to get involved and to learn about a new scientific topic! Join us once a month for Citizen Science Saturday where we will highlight a different citizen science project that you can get involved in around Chicago. Coffee and snacks will be provided. April - Zooniverse May - e School of Ants Min 6/Max 18 Family Archery Supervisor: Amanda Heiman/Leah Pryor Ready . . . aim . . . BULLSEYE! Enjoy getting outside with your family as you dabble at the sport of archery. Instruction, practice and a fun snack will be provided! Min 6/Max 18 Spring Hike Supervisor: Leah Pryor End your winter hibernation with a rejuvenating spring hike through Waterfall Glenn in Lemont. Explore the sights, sounds and smells as the forest reawakens aer its winter slumber. Min 3/Max 6 Family Wheel Throwing Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Explore the use of the wheel and basic throwing techniques in a family friendly class. Wheel practice will take place weekly in addition to learning the basics of glazing. Min 4/Max 6 Family Ceramics Supervisor: Amanda Heiman You and your child will explore a variety of hand- building techniques together! Wheel introduction will also be a part of this class, but please note there are only 6 wheels; therefore not all participants will use the wheel each class. Min 4/Max 8 Try-it Wheel Throwing Workshop Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Want to give the wheel a try? Join us for an introduction to wheel techniques, discovery and exploration. No take home projects in this class, as it is purely an exploration workshop. Min 2/Max 6 Registration includes 2 family members (PAIR); when applicable, you can enroll Additional Family Members at a reduced fee. All trips leave from Fox Center. Transportation & admission included. Meals/snacks on your own.
